I went to Ethiopia with the initial intention to see Danakil Depression and the Rock Hewn churches in Lalibela via the 11 days trip in North Ethiopia. Danakil was amazingly alien and beautiful and Rock Hewn churches did not disappoint. What is fascinating is that there are other fantastic attractions such as the close up with the baboons in Simien Mountain, the extraordinary mountain Mariam Korkor church with the thrilling climb up, the spectacular Salt Lake and sunset and the challenging night trek up to the volcano Erta Ale which surpassed my expectations. While the sights were breathtaking, the journey itself was by no means easy and there were minor hiccups along the way. I am so impressed by the service provided by the team at Escape to Ethiopia especially Sisay, who was attentive and fast to handle issues. The dedication and superb support provided to enable me to have a terrific time was remarkable. All in all, it was an awesome trip to Ethiopia with many surprising and wonderful attractions. Recommended if you are looking for adventure seeing incredible off the beaten path sights!
