First, this city tour takes you to Munich's oldest church, the Old Peter. The night watchman saw with his own eyes how the devil once hung on the top of Old Peter's tower and fought with the watchman. That is the reason why the tower is still slightly crooked today. After a few steps we are already in the old cemetery and discover stone evidence of the past. What funeral customs were there in the past and where does the saying come from that stinks to heaven?

We cross the old city moat of the 12th century and go to the old city gate at the old town hall. The bean counter was also a good acquaintance of the night watchman.

Stop At: Alter Hof 1, 80331 Munich, Bavaria Germany
Passing the torture chamber and city prison, the city tour goes along the old city wall into Burgstraße to the Alten Hof, the first castle of the Bavarian dukes in Munich. The night watchman was also present at the Impler uprising. The citizens managed to chase the duke out of his castle at short notice.

Stop At: Frauenkirche, Frauenplatz 12, 80331 Munich, Bavaria Germany
We follow the night watchman on his city tour through some narrow dark alleys and suddenly we are standing directly at the cathedral. A weathered tombstone shows the old but rich widow Petronella Stromairin. They learn how she did not let any of the young men who were after her inheritance cheat.

Stop At: Munchner Stadtmuseum, St.-Jakobs-Platz 1, 80331 Munich, Bavaria Germany
We follow the Dultstraße to the Dultplatz, today's Jakobsplatz and come to the Zeughaus, the medieval armory of Munich. Halberds and other armaments are kept in it to this day. There the night watchman sings his farewell song:
Do you hear people you are safe, go home are without worries, sleep the dear long night, because we faithfully keep watch for you ...

The booking page info was in English and the language for the tour was purposely unclear to lure bookings regardless of language preference. When we asked, the host told us German only and made an American joke/insult for a laugh….interesting approach for a tour business.

A really fun tour.. immersive, knowledgeable and a great way to burn off the somewhat heavy Bavarian cuisine.. learned a lot about the city and retained my interest

2 hours full of information around Munich downtown area. Very entertaining presented by a humorous lady. Highly recommended even for natives (like me)

War eine lustige und ein sehr schöner Abend. Wir haben vieles neue erfahren obwohl wir münchen fast alle kennen. Vor allem die Nachtwächterin hat ihre Führung meiner Meinung nach gelebt und geliebt. Danke für die Tolle Führung.

Wir hatten eine Nachtwächterin und die war mega super gut. War sehr nett und lustig und hat gut erklärt. Die 2 Stunden waren leider sehr schnell vorbei. Unsere Kinder wussten auch noch nach ein paar Tagen was die Nachtwächterin alles erzählt hat. :)

Als Teil des Abendprogramms unseres Teammeetings haben wir uns für diese Stadtführung mit dem Nachtwächter entschieden. Die Führung war sehr kurzweilig und mit humorvollen und interessanten Infos gespickt. Es hat uns sehr gefallen und kam bei der Gruppe prima an. Vielen Dank!

Die Nachtwächter-Führung war klasse! Sehr unterhaltsam, interessant und informativ. Eine tolle Führung für Besucher und Bewohner von München. Ich lebe seit über 30 Jahren in München und habe gedacht ich würde München gut kennen - bis ich diese Führung mitgemacht habe. Diese Nachtwächter-Führung ist ein Highlight.

Die Führung war richtig lustig und unterhaltsam, man fühlt sich zurückversetzt in die Anfänge Münchens.
Die 1 1/2 Stunden mit der Katl sind wie im Flug vergangen und wir nehmen einige interessante Informationen, Anekdoten und Geheimnisse rund um die heutige Landeshauptstadt mit.
Wir können jedem die Tour nur empfehlen.
