I had some time left after my business trip, so I decided to go on a very spontaneous trip to the Akagera park with Jean-Paul, and it was a perfect, very colourful and exciting experience! Jean-Paul knows everything about the nature and animals and is a great guide through villages and the area around the park. I can really recommend this trip and a visit to the great country of Rwanda! Warmly, Natalya

It was really fun, we saw so much. Our tour guide was very kind and was going out of his way to show us as many animals as he could. On time to pick us up and drop us off. Perfect day trip for us.

During this One Day trip in Akagera, I had the opportunity to discover some of the famous « big five ». The expérience was excellent, the Park is gorgeous and my driver and guide: JP did its best to find the animals (and it works, especially when he didn’t give up to find the elephants :))

Our guide Ben Alfa was incredible and made the experience so special for us! He made a huge effort to locate the animals in the park and gave us plenty of time to watch them and take pictures. 100% would recommend!!

I'm especially happy and excited to review about this trip, because my guide Ben Alpha. He is very knowledgeable about the area, about the country, about the park. He is very thoughtful. While asking what are my favorite animals and he plan them into the game drive route. He makes his best effort to spot wild creatures. I did saw my favorites. So unbelievable. Ben Alpha is also very accountable. When we facing challenges driving in the park, The road is very bumpy and muddy slipery after constant rain. He really makes sure I feel safe. And in fact it is safe because of him and his great driving experience with clamness. There are several other cars stuck in the mud and strangled cannot move. I highly recommend Ben Alpha as Your Guide. Also use countryside.tour as a company you go to for Rwanda safari.

This was a wonderful trip. We were in Kigali on business and decided on Friday afternoon that we should get out of the city for the day on Saturday. Booking was incredibly easy. Our guide (Ben) was a delight. I think he was as excited to be on the trip as we were -- very knowledgeable about the park and animals. We were very lucky on the trip, and saw everything from lions to hippos, rhinos, giraffes, baboons, and of course zebras and impalas. About the only thing we didn't see was leopards.

Going on a safari has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. Our guide, Anaclet was awesome! We all highly recommend him! We had great luck seeing many kinds of animals. He communicates with other guides while in the park about who has seen different animals and their location. He was so informative and so thoughtful.

I should start by saying that this was perhaps the highlight of my trip and the best decision I made on my trip — even though I was initially skeptical. My driver Jean-Paul arrived on time at 5am; he was personable and knowledgeable — having been doing this for over 10 years. The game drive was spectacular, spotting zebras, impalas, rhinos, warthog, elephants, giraffes, etc., along the drive. I signed up for the boat ride which was worth it - getting close to some amazing wildlife from birds to crocodiles (lucky enough to spot the biggest crocodile in the park) to more zebras and rhinos. The front axle of the 4x4 developed a little problem but that didn’t impact the drive in anyway. Out of an abundance of caution, JP contacted the organizer, Oliver and he drove out with another 4x4 which we didn’t need but served as a backup in case anything went wrong. Now that’s customer service! Shout out to JP and Oliver for making sure unforeseen incidentals was taken care of. There was free uninterrupted Wi-Fi and we stopped over for coffee, bathroom breaks and lunch. That makes a difference because the game drive within the park itself lasted around 5 - 6 hours not including how long it takes to get there. Side note: wear light colors. JP, who was warring bright red, suffered several bites from the tsetse flies, granted he’s probably used to it; I didn’t experience a single bite. Maybe I was lucky but I am positive my clothing had a lot to do with it. I also sprayed some insect repellent but there is no evidence that actually helps repel tsetse flies. Regardless it’s best to dress appropriately.

Our one day safari trip was excellent. We had already done gorilla trekking in Uganda and we made the decision to do this safari on our last day before flying home. So glad we did! Our guide, Anaclet was a wonderful host and very knowledgeable, telling us a lot about the culture of Rwanda and pointing things out on the way to the park. Then he was fantastic at spotting and pointing out all the animals and birds and went out of his way to show us as much as he could. Everything was very well organised and timed correctly and he always made sure we were comfortable. The park was obviously very beautiful and the wildlife was incredible- - we saw buffalo, elephants (including a couple of baby ones), warthogs, hippos, zebra, giraffe, impala, crocs and more bird species than I can even remember!! I would highly recommend this trip with this tour operator.
