We will explore the hidden gems of Shinsekai's backstreets and visit 5 eateries. A paradise…..if you know where to go...there aren't any English menus here, but we'll sort it all out for you:)
We have carefully chosen these original establishments in and around the markets serving totally traditional Osakan food! A genuine neighborhood den feel soaks in while the food penetrates the nostrils, tastebuds & stomach!
Remember, throughout the journey we will duck in restaurants and feed our bursting appetite…so we'll make sure you feel completely satisfied!

This tour is a must when in Osaka!! The delicious udon, the tasty chicken wings, the warm and crisy takoyaki and the tender brisket were out out this world. The people were great as well: from the local restaurant owners, to the other guests and our two wonderful guides. If you’re a foodie, I strongly advise booking this experience. 12/10!

We had a wonderful time, in large part due to our tour guide Adam Smith. We came with two kids and he was engaging, funny and full of suggestions. We even got to quickly stop at some kid themed activities to keep them entertained. The food and drinks were great too!

We had a fun experience tasting different foods with the knowledgeable, friendly guide! Anna was able to answer all the questions and was funny and entertaining! We visited small, family owned businesses that were very friendly and welcoming!

Kevin was a great guide who helped make the whole experience fun. We went to places we never would have gone into on our own and experienced some real Japanese culture.

Tommy was exceptional. Although he was from Melbourne Australia, being in Osaka for 6 years, he did amazing.
Knowing where to go and the places we visit was welcoming. We would have never visited these places on our own, and trying authentic dishes was perfect.

Overall, a great tour of the Shinsekai area of Osaka. The beginning of the tour was a bit confusing, as it wasn’t clear there were multiple groups and tour guides for the tour. Once we got our guide Hikaru, things went well. Hikaru did a great job explaining information about the food we were eating, as well as the Shinsekai area.
As with most food tours, the party members you tour with can make or break your experience, but the tour folks cant really control this!
