Thoroughly delightful staff, including tour guides! They made certain we knew how and where to find them. Delicious lunch, too!

We had a fantastic tour. Our guide was Henry and he and our boat captain found tons of animals to point out - howler and white faced monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, coati, and lots of beautiful birds. Henry was very knowledgeable in telling us about the history of the river and the ecosystem of the area. Our lunch at the ranch was delicious and the ranch had more interesting things to see. I would highly recommend this tour.

Arturo and miguel were excellent. They pointed out all the fauna in the area and were adept at navigating the river to the point we could see every unique monkey, bird, crocodile, etc. on the river. They even had a way of calling the monkeys to come closer to see them better.
Aruturo gave a lot of info on the overall Costa Rican history, sociality and, also, all of the background on the parque and its interconnection acrpss all aspects of the ecological footprint.
Great sense of humor for both of them.

The river was thick with crocs and the bank was full of capuchin monkeys. Add in some beautiful birds, iguanas and a few sleepy howler monkeys and we had a really nice cross section of the wildlife the Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Cipancí has to offer.
We started the day with a good cup of coffee & ended it with a tasty Casado lunch at the Rancho Los Coyotes. Fun place with a very friendly staff.
Family run business featuring brothers, Arturo & Andres. Very personable guys who work hard to make your excursion a memorable experience.
Overall, a really great day. Highly recommended. Probably the best value for your tour dollars in Costa Rica.

Good and bad to this tour,
I’ll start with the good: our boat captain José was incredible! He did an amazing job spotting and helping us to see all of the different wildlife. He even did some pretty epic monkey calls. We saw an abundances of wildlife such as crocodiles, white face and howler monkeys, owls, bats, iguanas and various bird species. The boat was great and José did an excellent job navigating us up close to the banks to see the animals.
The bad: logistics were messy. We waited at the meeting point 10 minutes past our departure time and no one showed so we then continued on down the road to find a shop labeled Palo Verde Boat Tours so we stopped in there to ask them and the lady inside was nice enough to call our tour operator and get him down there for us. It seemed they had no idea we were coming despite having booked a week in advance. Everything and everyone was flustered, confused and rushed. We also were not provided the lunch that the tour said it came with or binoculars.
Overall I’d say the tour was worth it as the experience turned out worthwhile for all of the animals but this company needs some work on the logistical side.
