Travelers will explore Miami from the water. Only 15 minutes from the International Airport and 30 minutes from Bayside and cruise ships in Miami all easily accessible by Uber or Lyft. You arrive at a nice PRIVATE lake, where we blast off for the day's adventure. The area has over 15 miles in three completely private lakes that we will explore looking for the exotic hard-fighting peacock bass and clown knife fish.
While on the water it paints a local picture of Miami culture, and you are almost guaranteed to have an encounter with iguanas. A verse and great fishery, stocked with largemouth bass, peacock bass, clown knife fish, snook, and even tarpon. At the conclusion of your trip, we will bring you back to the dock for departure.

I went to Miami from Michigan to catch Peacock Bass.
In Miami, I was able to see a variety of wild animals and fish that I couldn't see in Michigan.
We also caught a lot of fish. I wanted to go again.

Went in thinking could somebody ever catch so many fish that it gets boring, the answer still is a resounding no. Had a wonderful time the entire time. Would definitely recommend

It's been a long time goal of mine to catch a peacock bass on a flyrod. I was going to be in Orlando for work, so I reached out to Captain Hernandez after thoroughly reading all of the information here on Trip Advisor (what is included, policies, reviews, etc) and booked the trip.
The morning of the trip I caught an early flight from MCO to MIA and took a Lyft to the address in my confirmation email. It was a 20 minute ride as expected, and he had a locked storage area for my luggage while we fished. He knew my schedule and we worked around the flight schedule easily enough.
Within a few minutes of arrival we pushed off and started catching fish on spinning tackle. We caught several peacocks and a couple large mouth on our way around the first bay. By this time we were laughing, playing some Jimmy Buffet, and settled into our grove on the boat so I switched over to the fly tackle. Per our arrangement he had two TFO rod/reels in 5 and 7 weights ready to go with sink tips and streamers. He also handed me a few boxes of flies of different colors and sizes including few shrimp and popper patters as well as a nice assortment of streamers and said he could tie up whatever I wanted anytime I wished. I started off with the 5 weight and a big white Clouser he had already setup on that rod, and it worked just fine so I didn't change up for the rest of the trip. Over the next couple hours I caught a few peacocks on the flyrod, and I am totally satisified with my trip in every way. He was great about getting the fish in the boat, pictures, video, etc.
For future anglers I would say a few things about expectations. This is a small lake and it is surrounded by houses as mentioned in the details, I loved the convenience to the airport vs trying to do something remote. The spinning gear was way more effective, we probably landed 8 fish to 1 versus the fly gear. Also all of the peacocks I caught on the fly were smaller than any we caught on the spinning gear. The bigger fish were deeper and taking on painfully slow retreives that day. If I wanted big fish, or a lot of fish, I am sure we would have left the flyrods behind. That said, Captain Rick knew what I wanted to do and really leaned into the challenge to make this longtime dream come true. Overall this was a great trip for me and I could see doing it again the next time I have a few extra hours in Miami.

Great experience! The funnest part was to take out the fish once on the hook. Kids and adults had a fantastic time!
