Our tour guide was fantastic, so knowledgeable & fun. He took us to his favourites & the most archaeologically important areas. The bus driver was great, we really enjoyed travelling with him. I saw parts of Pompei that I hadn't seen before & I was thrilled to visit Herculaneum. Highly recommended.

The feeling of being in the midst of a thriving community in Pompeii and the feeling of being in the privacy of the individual homes amidst a small bustling town.

Would thoroughly recommend this tour. From our driver and guide to the ease by of the high-speed train from Rome everything was seamless. Our driver Giovanni met us with a warm welcome and expertly navigated the route to Pompeii, Herculaneum and back again safely. He thoughtful and kind enough to offer candies for the drive and help us with lunch reservations in Pompeii - highly recommend making a lunch reservation due to the volume of tourists visiting the park if you would like to guarantee a seat. Diego was our highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide for both Pompeii and Herculaneum. It is clear that the historical significance of this site and its history is his passion. Anyone lucky enough to land this duo will have an amazing day. Now some advice for anyone considering this tour - bring water/water bottle you will need it on a hot day. There are several fountains in Pompeii for refills, much less so in Herculaneum. Good footwear is very important. The walkways are either uneven basalt stone or narrow areas of paved walkway which is not always available or overly crowded.

Short easy train ride to Naples. Drivers were ready with a very comfortable van. Tour guide was great!!! Long day but worth it! Bring an umbrella if you need shade. And water sunscreen. This was well worth it.

Over all it was an excellent tour. High speed train is the way to go! The driver was outstanding and the guide was excellent and certainly knew Pompeii and Herculaneum very well. I had been to Pompeii before, so the inclusion of Herculaneum was a real draw. While it had some fascinating houses, if we had it to do over again, we would opt for a longer, in-depth visit to Pompeii. The audio headsets were a problem. With the pace of the tour and crowds of other visitors, we (and other members of our tour) had audio drop out and static too frequently. The earpiece is great to let you hear clearly, but when it ceases to work, it is a problem. The tour would be 5 out of 5 except for the audio issue.

We very much enjoyed our day at Pompeii and Herculaneum. Genaro was great. BUT, if we would have known that almost all of the sculptures and other treasures that have been found in Pompeii and Herculaneum are in a museum in Naples, we would’ve booked only Pompeii or Herculaneum, and then seen the museum. Also, Pompeii is wonderful, but it is a lot of walking. we were very worn out even in the cool weather of April, which is the perfect time to go. I think Pompeii in Summer would be a death march. Herculaneum they say is hotter in Summer than Pompei.

Our guide was full of interesting details about life before the eruption and the eruption itself. He took us to out-of-the-way spots to avoid the crowds. He was amusing, friendly, and ready for any questions. We enjoyed it.

Giovanni our ASKOS driver as excellent! He was personable, gave us good and clear instructions on where to meet and his driving was calm and professional. Antonio who was our guide, and Archeologist, was great in the limited time he had to take us through both Pompeii and Heraculuem. My only regret is that there wasn’t enough time to see more of Pompeii and we inadvertently went during Easter week. There were lots of school children making the walk through the archeological parks difficult to enjoy.

Giovanni, our driver, and Paolo, our tour guide, were fantastic. Giovanni skillfully navigated us through Naples rush hour traffic and got us to Pompeii and Herculaneum safely and on time. Giovanni has a great sense of humor too! While there, Paolo was fantastic at answering any questions we had and showing us around the archaeological sites. The tour itself was incredible - Pompeii left a lasting impression and, as someone who just earned a Masters in Historic Preservation, it was very interesting to see how historic sites are maintained in other countries. High marks all around!
