We left from Lisbon, which is a 3 hr drive, but it wasn’t bad at all. The van was nice and climate controlled. Porto is a wonderful city, rich with culture and scenic views. We went to the top of Torre dos Clerigos, amazing view of the city. Our guide recommended an excellent restaurant with spectacular views of the river walk. We enjoyed a 50 minute boat ride up/down the river. Then we ended the tour walking the town and capped it with gelato ice cream. We took a nap on the drive back. Our guide, Joao, was awesome. Very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and knew exactly where to take us. I highly recommend visiting Porto!!

Everything we saw was great, especially the train station, the book store, the gondola ride, the tiles on the churches, the view from the bridge, and the view from the tower. Also, Joao made sure that we saw everything that we wanted to see. But 1 day is not really enough to see this wonderful city.

It is a 2:30 hours from Lisbon but definitely worth the ride. Our guide and driver was Rui (AKA RRR), a young but knowledgeable guy who made of our journey a pleasant and unforgettable experience.
After enjoying the beautiful countryside landscaping of Portugal we arrived to Porto. Visiting Calem cave was a highlight of our visit. We had a scrumptious lunch at Adega São Nicolau and after a cup of coffee he drove us to the must see points in the city: Clérigos Tower, Del Carmo Church and the Carmelita Church. Watching the tile mural on the side of the church and then watching the ones at Porto train station were breathtaking experiences, not to mention the visit to that jewel which is the Lello bookstore (one of the inspirations of J K Rowling for her Harry Potter series)

This was a wonderful way to spend the day outside of the city. Worth the drive to embrace the city of Oporto, the pictures do not do it justice, you must take this tour.
