Itinerary
This unique workshop will be led by our professional artist and will give you the chance to get hands-on and creative. We will use traditional and authentic materials - ceramic glazes and tiles.
During the 2 hour workshop the tutor will tell you about the history of Portuguese tiles Azulejos and differences between the styles and techniques. You may choose to follow a traditional design or have fun with your own unique drawing. No worries if you have no prior drawing or painting skills - you will be able to choose from 10 different traditional Portuguese tile design stencils that you can trace in a few seconds. All materials will be provided, including one tile per person and several vibrant colors to choose from.
Because we use the traditional technique - your tile will need to be fired in a special ceramic kiln after glazing. Finished tiles can be picked up after five business days at our studio in Rua da Boavista, or we can mail it to you for an additional fee. (Europe - 15 euros, USA 25 euros per parcel with tracking number).

We ended up being the only people at the workshop. The master Eglė Norkutė was very nice, friendly and helpful! We had an amazing time and are very excited to receive our fired tiles.

We had a wonderful time painting our tiles with Eglė. She is so sweet and patience and she helped us when we needed it and offered suggestions when we were in doubt. My family and I did a Tile tour the day before to learn all about the tiles in Porto so that once we got to Eglė we were ready to paint. From my mom (80) to my kids (25,23,19) and my husband and I, we all had a wonderful time and are anxiously awaiting for our tiles to be shipped.

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and I signed us up for this workshop. We both were enamored with the azulejo tiles in Portugal and wanted to learn more about them and take the opportunity to paint some ourselves! Eglė was a phenomenal teacher and was exceptionally patient and comprehensive in introducing what would we be doing, advice for the different stencil options, and giving us tips to help make our tiles better! It was a really fun way to take a break from sightseeing and spend some time doing something creative that still felt culturally relevant to where we were. We just received our tiles in the mail a few days ago, and they looked amazing. I would absolutely recommend this workshop to anyone, regardless of skill level or interest in art, looking for a unique experience in Porto!

Our family group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed Eglé’s tile painting workshop! She was well organized and very knowledgeable. Super fun workshop. Our efforts were validated and encouraged. We would highly recommend this workshop as a unique and fun experience in Porto. No art experience necessary. Try it! You will love it!

Our teacher was very nice and gave us the freedom to implement our own ideas, while providing guidance and support. It was a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere where ideas could flourish.

My friends and I had a great time painting tiles. Egle was super helpful and knowledgeable. Because of the rainy weather, we met to paint in the studio. We were able to see lots of different pottery pieces as well. Highly recommend.
