Like all the Cycladic residents, inhabitants of Kythnos are familiar with the use of clay since ancient years. Clay has been widely used from the construction of cooking vessels to beehives. The art of pottery was significantly developed in Kythnos in comparison with other Cycladic islands, due to clay’s sufficiency in Kythnos land. As a matter of fact, Kythnos is the only place in Cyclades where visitors will see the signature hand-made clay roof tiles, as a proof of the special connection among the residents with craftsmanship!
Pottery lessons take place in the heart of Chora village, delivered by the oldest potter of the sland! Step by step you will be guided through its secrets, as well as, at the end of the day you will depart with your own handmade souvenir creation!
