Itinerary
This Is a really fun and easy class for anyone!!!
You dont need to be artistic to make something amazing on the potter’s wheel.
The throwing explanation and demonstrations will walk you through the process step by step in 3 phases:
1. Centering-getting the clay centered
2. Opening -forming the bottom
3. Pulling-making the walls of the vessel
After walking through the first pot you will have time to play and practice more on your own. There is plenty of time for practicing and people make on average between 1-3 pots.
The design of this class is to feel the almost magical experience of turning spinning clay into something functional like a cup or bowl.
After your class I can finish, glaze, and fire the pots you choose to keep for a small shipping and firing fee.
I can ship domestic or international depending on where you live. So no matter where you are from you can still get your hand made creations delivered.

David is an excellent instructor— friendly, encouraging, expert at breaking down the wheel techniques into manageable steps with spot on (and interesting) analogies! We ended the class with two functional and pretty pieces each! Bonus time with his gorgeous dog Bijou!

Our favorite part was learning how to use a pottery wheel. This was the perfect thing to do for a couple of hours during our weeklong trip to Maui. We usually spend the morning at the beach and evening at a nice dinner. It was the highlight of the trip. We have several bowls that turned into succulent planters all around the house. TIP: I would suggest making a hanging planter. Simply put a hole at the bottom and 3 holes evenly spaced around the top. When you get your pottery add some parachute cord to make a hanging pot. Add a succulent and it will remind you of Maui for a long time. Next time we go this is what we are doing.
