Itinerary
At the beginning of the seminar there will be a quick guided tour of the workshop and information on the stages that the clay passes to get from an amorphous mass to a useful object.
Then I will show you the various techniques that you can use to create your own unique items by hand or on the wheel.
Τhe creations you will realise in the atelier will take 3-4 days to dry, depending on your realisation and the weather. Then you can either pick them up or glaze them in the colour you wish. In that case you have to wait another 2 days for the second baking. Notice that the second baking is not included in the price.
The handicraft that you will create, once cooked, can be obtained from the workshop. If you prefer, it can be send to the address you wish at your own expense. Note that shipping overseas can be fairly expensive.

Getting there was a pain. It should be written in the description that you don't get anything usable to take home. We didn't even get them fired once so they'll never make the trip home. Lots of money for nothing.

It should be explained that nothing would get fired and no complete pieces come home with you. Being unfamiliar with the process we were unaware. We took the unfinished pieces but will probably leave behind because we have no place to finish them. Definitely not worth the money or time.

The class was great. The teacher was very helpful. We learnt so much more than we anticipated. A short introduction to crete style pottery and also about the special crete clays that exist here. Being at the wheel was an amazing experience but especially with such a patient and enthusiastic teacher with you every step of the way. We have signed our pieces and paid a small fee for our postage for the safe return of our special items we made.
What an experience. Thanks so much for this.

My friend and I had a great 2 hours pottery lesson. Under the guidance of Ioanna we worked for the first time on the wheel and had such a nice experience. The atelier is on a wonderful spot and near to the Heraklion airport - so we could get the lesson before flying back. We highly recommend this workshop and we're looking forward to more pottery classes!

We had a lovely time at the ceramics workshop. Ioanna showed us different techniques and we managed to create some really nice pottery that she will ship to us in Denmark.

I got this pottery seminar as birthday gift, and the experience was really worth it! Working with clay is playful and enjoyable, the lesson was very professionally held, the atelier is very nice, clean and colourful and the location is great, surrounded by nature and vineyards, totally recommend it!

We just finished a 2h pottery class with Ioanna and it was fantastic.
Ioanna is a great host and she started by showing us some of her work, the different techniques used and asked us about what we would enjoy doing.
The whole class was tailored to what we wanted to do and Ioanna's patience led us through the different steps like centring the clay on the wheel and turning it into different shapes.
Aprons are provided and masks worn all the time. It was just the 2 of us in the class and always felt safe given the times.
I would definitely recommend trying this early on so you can return either for a full course or to collect your work after it is treated and glazed. We chose to have ours delivered and Ioanna was very accommodating for this.
Looking forward to receiving our little gems.

We are a family with 2 boys aged 9 and 3 living in Belgium. It was our first experience on pottery class. The location is quite secluded but easy by car via Google maps. We entered the property with nice pomegranate trees and beautiful view. We were greeted by a nice lady Ioanna who first gave us an introduction and showed us her beautiful creations. We were excited to get our hands dirty. Since my 3 yr old son is too young for the wheel, he was given some clay to get busy. In the beginning Ioanna guided our hands in the wheel working with the clay. Eventually she let us spin on our own. We were proud to end up with our own production of little cups and plates. It seem easy to mould the clay but once you try it, it takes practice to center it on the wheel and discover techniques. I cannot remember how many times we made mistakes but we were always provided with a new clay to start again. When we returned home, a package arrived containing our own signed pieces. We enjoyed the experience and highly recommend this activity.
