After hotel pickup, you will discover the landscape of Cambodia in your choice of a tuk tuk or car during the 90 minutes journey to Phnom Prasith Temple. On the way you will enjoy a local snack for morning tea.

Set high on top of the eastern summit of twin hills, Phnom Prasith Temple offers breath taking views of the surrounding country side. Visitors will enjoy taking in this ancient structure which is home to a community of monks going about their daily lives.

We will then continue our journey back to the base of the hill and enjoy a lunch at a traditional Khmer restaurant in a beautiful shady location while enjoying the views of the surrounding rural landscape.

Then it is a short drive to a Buddhist centre known as Putmondul. Here you will see monks and nuns as well as many locals seeking good luck through their offerings. It is home to a magnificent reclining Buddha and many fine paintings depicting the history of this religion.

Then we move onto Phnom Reap Temple which is alternatively known as Prasat Vihear Suor. This relatively new structure which was finished in 1998 and is based on the architectural style of Angkor Wat and is referred to as the new Angkor Wat.

It is home to many beautiful sculptures of ancient kings and of Buddha. You will see many locals who have made the journey to seek the blessing of the monks in the hope of good fortune.

Our guide Li was great, knowledgable but not pushy with the information. Best part of the tour was probably the tuk tuk ride through the market. Also enjoyed seeing the monks at the temple - very surprised when the head monk asked us for a photo. He then showed us various selfies with other tourists (got the impression not many go to see them). Actually didn't see any other tourists all day, which was different!!! A bit of a shame that most Temples were only built in the last 20 or so years as Pol Pot essentially destroyed everything. But we did see one that was 700 years old and what made it more special was that a hermit had just arrived a few days earlier for a pilgrimage to the temple.

Our guide was incredible to say the least, she was warm and her knowledge about Combodian history was deep rooted and thought provoking. She provided her own experience and we were honored to listen to her anecdotes. Her English was immaculate! Thank you for making our time with you amazing!
