Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Corfe Castle, Corfe Castle, Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, England

We will head high up on the hills overlooking the 1,000 year old Corfe Castle, heading along ancient by-ways and muddy tracks to reach stunning viewing and resting spots.
Our 4x4 jeep safari is extremely comfortable and our passengers love the upgraded Land Rover with it's Air Conditioning, leather seats and panoramic windows.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Tyneham, Tyneham, Dorset, England

This abandoned English village is steeped in history, after it was used in World War 2 to prepare US, Canadian and UK troops for D-Day. All the villages had just 4 weeks to leave their homes, never to return.
Now we see a beautiful, yet eerie village taken over by the forest and mother nature.
Visit the 700 year old church and Victorian school and marvel at the history.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, West Lulworth England

Probably one of the most beautiful, old and iconic English villages by the sea. The beach is even more incredible where the last ice age carved out a horseshoe shaped bay into the Jurassic cliffs.
Used for piracy and smuggling in the past, now fisherman sail these waters providing excellent fish and lobster for the visitors

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Steeple, Steeple, Southminster, Essex, England

Visit the 700 year old church, built by George Washington's ancestors.
In the church's arch, sport the world's oldest Washington coat of arms (2 stars and 3 stripes) and precursor to the Stars & Stripes flag!
We will head high above Creech Grange, once home to George Washington's ancestors, heading off-road once again

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: South West Coast Path - Heaven's Gate at Kimmeridge Bay, Quarry Car Park, Kimmeridge BH20 5PH England

Probably the most beautiful viewing location in the whole of Dorset, Heaven's Gate sits high above Kimmeridge Bay.
Only reachable with our safari truck, we head off road and along the ridge with breath taking views.
We stop for refreshments and Helen's famous homemade cakes!
Plus an option for a short walk to the highest point in the Isle of Purbeck which is the site of a bronze age burial mound, where on a very clear day you can see across the see to the cliffs in Normandy, France some 75 miles to the south!

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Corfe Castle was a superb surprise. It looked good in the photos, but to be driven all around the hills above the castle was amazing! This safari had the benefit of being able to drive on loads of muddy off road tracks and see some cool sights, but the comfort and luxury as well! Mark was a fantastic guide and driver. He picked us up from the Port and the next 8 hours flew by! We paid extra for two more hours to the safari, as we were in port a full day, so wanted to make the most of it. Fabulous tour. Easily 5/5 safari!

We knew England was a beautiful country, but we were astonished at the incredible scenery and sights we saw on Mark’s tour / safari. We asked Mark for a mixture of 4x4 on the hills (which he did well and it was super comfortable) and points of interest (we saw Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove and many more interesting places). He literally allowed us to bespoke the safari, though we were glad he guided us along the way as we only knew a little bit about the area. If you’re booked on a Cruise coming into Portland (or even Southampton he said), Mark is the best guy to show you around. Absolutely gorgeous and brilliant tour!

The whole experience was amazing. Mark was an awesome guide and made our excursion way better than we could have imagined! Dorset is beautiful. So glad we didn’t do the bus tour to Stonehenge. We stopped at two castles, two pretty little English villages, drove off road on top of the hills and even crossed a river in his Land Rover!

Mark was awesome. We had a great day with him. He is very friendly and knowledgeable, even if he makesbit up (just kidding). Mark took us to several remote locations that we'd have never seen had we not chosen to go along with him. I would highly recommend booking this tour with Mark.

What an amazing day we had in Mark’s Land Rover! We were collected from Portland and driven to the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. The ruins of Corfe Castle were breathtaking and we loved Mark’s stories about the history. We stopped for lunch in this old British pub. Nice touch! But the best part of the day was up on the hills. How the truck managed to climb all over those hills, I’ll never know. Such incredible views. Mark was funny! And knowledgable. And Helen’s cake was something else. All the other 5* reviews I had read before booking, were absolutely accurate! Loved it!

Amazing and WOW!! We all had such an incredible private tour with Mark. He was funny, interesting and engaging. He took us to some really cool places and it was without doubt the Best excursion we did on our cruise! Dorset is so beautiful and the Jeep / Land Rover was incredibly comfortable and exciting. Cannot recommend enough. A must do if you’re heading into Portland (Stonehenge)
