The experience was horrible.. we thought we were going to actually fish. We spent a lot of money to watch captain and mate fish. We wanted to actually cast a line and do some real fishing. If you’re are looking to go out in a boat ride for 460 bucks have at it. We purchased a charter fishing trip kit a boat ride..

I have no idea what the fishing trip was like because it was canceled. But Viator keeps contacting me for a review so here you go.

Amazing experience! We caught two Wahoo and one barracuda. My ten year old nephew had a blast reeling in the barracuda and napping afterwards ;) Very peaceful being out on the boat and we were able to spot landmarks/ places we had visited along the shore. The captain and first mate were very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend you give it a try!

I gave this charter 4 stars because we caught a LOT of fish. Kingfish, Mahi, Bonita and Wahoo. The first mate is a great guy and he is very helpful. At times a little too helpful and you really don’t do much except reel the fish in. The largest and really horrible thing is the captain in the most angry and pissed off person I have encountered in this life. He does know where the fish are but yelled at my son and husband, he got very angry because I asked for a picture too soon on the dock. He claimed we were on ‘Island Time’, which he certainly is not. He chained smoked the entire charter while yelling/fighting with the first mate. Honestly the guy needs an attitude adjustment and made my son, husband, daughter and I all very uncomfortable.

First mate was more talkative. Explaining stuff. Didn’t catch much fish. Captain was extremely rude. Wouldn’t even make eye contact with us. Maybe he should quit if he hates people.

Awesome trip. Captain Juan Carlos of the Carla knows his stuff. It is never a guarantee to catch but he goes where he should be to give the best shot possible. We ended with 3 nice kingfish 2 small Bonita and a decent wahoo. First mate Rudolph changed up baits until he found the right one. Boat isn’t the biggest so can get a little rocky but once the fish bite, you don’t even notice. Well worth the price of admission. I would definitely go again with these guys.

Good-communication (prior to trip), prompt departure, Rudolph first mate was helpful though a little difficult to understand at times Bad-Captain Carlos. Carlos met us with cigarette in mouth. Not friendly/welcoming. Didn’t speak to us on whole trip. Went with 19&20 yo , one of whom got very seasick (despite premedication). Rudolph helped with bucket and empathy. Asked if we wanted to turn around. Did not request to at first as person was feeling better but after more vomiting asked to return. Rudolph communicated this to Carlos. but we DID NOT get back any faster- a little over 4 hours per our watch. . Lines were out and caught more fish on the way back. After finished realized, Carlos probably wanted to make more money off the trip as unlikely we would keep most of fish When returned to dock husband stepped on bouy not completely on wood dock and Carlos said "fing idiot. Then Carlos wanted us to take photos with fish, with 20 yo still not feeling well we said no thanks. Carlos made a gesture my husband caught inferring we babied the person. We opted not to take any fish as end of experience was very negative. Did tip Rudolph well-as he did a good job despite unfortunate situations. Obviously, not captain’s fault someone was sick but response to and overall attitude before and after trip were not indicative of “One Happy Island.”
