Stop At: Uros Floating Islands, Lake Titicaca, Puno Peru
Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Puno and take you to the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca.
In the morning, we will visit the unique Uros Floating Islands. The islands have been built using nothing but totora reeds, a water plant that grows in the lake. You will be astonished to see and learn about how the locals use the totora reeds to build their canoes, houses, beds and many other objects, necessary in their daily lives.
Your visit to Uros includes a very special experience, a pleasant trip around the islands riding on a totora reed canoe.
Relax and enjoy the stunning scenery of Lake Titicaca when we continue on to Taquile Island via motor boat for 2 hours.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Lake Titicaca, Taquile Island 21510 Peru
Once you arrive to Taquile Island, enjoy a locally prepared lunch of delicious and fresh Lake Titicaca trout. After lunch, you have the opportunity to take a short hike around the island before crossing the lake via boat heading back to Puno.

The Uros are an amazing group of very hard working people. Taquille Island is beautiful and we had a delicious lunch on the island.

Vivemos um dia incrível compartilhando um pouquinho da vida dos Uros nas Ilhas Flutuantes do Lago Titikaka! Fomos recebidos já na rodoviária por um dos filhos da família, o Rubens, ele nos acompanhou de táxi até o porto dos Uros, onde seu irmão e nosso guia e anfitrião, Luís, nos encontrou de barco. Ele nos levou até sua ilha flutuante e ali a experiência começou! Ficamos hospedamos em uma charmosa casinha construída por eles com totoras (planta aquática que é a base de tudo, barcos, artesanatos, Ilhas, casas, etc). Ao longo de dois dias visitamos a ilha Taquile, aprendemos a fazer artesanatos, pescamos trutas e experimentamos deliciosas refeições. É tudo muito simples, a cultura dos Uros se mantém muito viva ainda, seu idioma é o Aymara. Nada de luxo. Muito de harmonia com a natureza, simplicidade e paz.
