Private Glencoe Driving Tour from Edinburgh

We were on a UK tour for my 40th birthday, and Edinburgh was our second stop after Belfast, and after that we headed to London. We booked the private Glencoe tour on my actual birthday-- It was hands down the highlight of our whole trip! We saw so much in one day from the castle where Outlander and Monty Python were filmed, to highland cows, the grave of Rob Roy and small waterfall near the church and graveyard, Glencoe bogs and majestic mountains, my partner got to be Daniel Craig for a moment recreating the Glencoe scene in Skyfall, we had lunch at a local pub, we even saw standing stones that were over four THOUSAND years old. Scott was a fantastic tour guide the whole way- sharing loads of information about the country, history, people, and more. He was witty, fun, checked in with what we needed (food, bathroom, etc.) and how we were doing, and made our trip even more special than we thought possible. He changed things up when the rain came pouring (we visited in April), and kept us seeing amazing things the whole day. We were even able to try a little whisky to celebrate my birthday. Thank you SO MUCH for making our trip so memorable and special. We feel lucky to have been able to spend the day with Scott, and to celebrate my birthday this way.

Scott, our guide was such a deft driver and wonderful story teller. He let us go at our own pace and took us to some of the loveliest spots. We highly recommend Scott. He’s very entertaining and friendly.

My family and I did a day tour of Glencoe with Scott. It was a highlight of our trip! Scott picked us up from our hotel and was just an absolute delight from the moment we met him. As we were driving out of Edinburgh Scott took us by some must-see sites and talked about the history/background. As we made it to and through Glencoe, we saw bridges, monuments, and just absolutely picturesque lochs, mountains, waterfalls, and landscapes. We stopped and fed some highland cows that were just adorable! We also stopped at a mini Stonehenge type area with stones that were thousands of years old. We visited a number of quaint and lovely villages to break up the drive and do a bit of shopping with coffee breaks etc, which included stopping at a world-renowned chocolatier for a tasting! The tour ended with Scott dropping us off at our hotel. Again, this day was an absolute highlight and that was due in no small part to Scott. He was so lovely and funny and knowledgeable that it just made our day. I can't say enough nice things about the day and highly recommend it to anyone considering that tour.

Thanks to Iconic Tours we had an amazing time in Scotland. If you are looking for a private tour company this is who you want to book with. I reached out to Will prior to our travel dates, he always responded in a timely manner. He could not have been more patient and attentive in helping us to work out an itinerary to include all the things we wanted to see and experience. He also showed us several places off the beaten path that were fantastic. We found Will to be very professional, personable and to have a good sense of humor. We spent 4 days with him enjoying his wealth of knowledge not only about the sites we were visiting but about Scotland in general. Can’t wait to revisit some day and would definitely book with Iconic Tours again. Our day trip to Glencoe was the best ever! Will was the perfect guide for our family party of four; great communication before the trip, very comfortable vehicle, and best of all - great stories during the long drive! Will quickly got a feel for what we were wanting to experience and made stops based on what we preferred - including so many unbelievable views a bit off the beaten path, a great lunch spot, a surprise toast near the Skyfall bridge, and of course the hairy coos! I would highly recommend this tour, and hope to make it back to experience more of Scotland with Will!

Scott was our guide, educator, comic, friend on this really wonderful day excursion into the mid highlands. While we did not have any set expectations or any specific sites to visit Scott was very masterful with getting a feeling of what we would prefer from the conversations we had while traveling. We hit the spots generally outlined in the description of the tour but we did a number of side spots that were interesting, beautiful, and allowed us to feel a part of the land and people of Scotland in our brief visit. The company was very informative and punctual in preparation and Scott was very timely and thorough. Brilliant in all aspects and we would look forward to another excursion with exactly this company and Scott when we return.

Excellent tour with Scott! Very fun, lots of flexibility, and extremely informative. The trip was comfortable and he was able to tailor the destinations to our preferences.
