Highlight of our brief stay in London. Diggity was both friendly and brought out the hospitality and kindness of everyone we encountered along the way, the stroll would not have been the same without him! And of course, Ricky had a wonderful enthusiasm and deep knowledge for both the history and local beers. A balance perfectly suited for what we were hoping for when we booked this tour. The pace was perfect and offered complete flexibilty. It was if we were strolling the winding back streets of London with an Old Friend. (John they deserve a rate increase!) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anyone looking to slow it down for an evening, and enjoy great company, good beer and hidden history!

This was my second Liquid History tour. My first was a standard group tour, meeting at St. Paul’s tube on Saturday, October 29, 2022 with the fantastic Mark as our guide. That tour earned a previous 5-star review here on TripAdvisor. But this review isn’t about that tour. This is about the afternoon of Friday, April 5, 2024. And what an afternoon!
I booked a private tour for 8 with Liquid History and developed an itinerary by means of e-mail consultation. A prospective list of 12 pubs was provided, which we eventually whittled down to five. Our guide, John, was by turns erudite, hilarious, and thoughtful. He’s a natural storyteller, and he told the story of the pubs we visited and the streets we walked with skill, aplomb, and the authority of a true expert. John gave us more of his time than he probably should have, and made every minute of the time we shared a treasure. Hats off, John: you kept everyone well-entertained for an all-too-short afternoon.
I planned an impressive trip to London. A beautiful flat in Mayfair, Michelin-starred restaurants, shopping in Regent’s and Jermyn streets. Over a month later? We all talk about the pub tour we took with John more than anything else we did. The tour was superlative. And that’s likely understating things.
Postscript: We visited The Grenadier, The Nag’s Head, The Star Tavern, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, The Blackfriars.

We had a fantastic pub tour with Ricky and his dog named Diggity. We visited several pubs as well as other historical sites along the route as we moved from pub to pub. Ricky is knowledgeable of the history of the pubs, the beer and drinks they serve and the historical elements and figures in the neighborhood that surround them. I would highly recommend this tour. Diggity is a celebrity at some of the pubs.

We only had a limited time in London, and I'm so glad that we decided to spend a few hours with Ricky (our great guide) and his incredibly cute dog (Diggity). Ricky was excellent at explaining some interesting history, while walking from pub to pub, and also while enjoying our refreshments. Highly recommend!

A great way to really learn the History of the City of London whilst discovering some really great ale houses and gin palaces. If you get Lyndon as your guide you have hit the jackpot.

Not my first time doing this tour with Liquid History, each time it has been different but today was most informative, relaxed and amusing. Lyndon was a very knowledgable guide and was happy to go at a pace which suited us and seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. A real treat of a day out and I will definitely be back for more. Thanks also to the team who helped with the booking and responded positively to our preferred route. What a great team you are! Thanks again…..until next time.

We had a wonderful time on the Historical Pub Walking Tour with Adam. He had great information on the history of the pubs and their culture, but also provided additional fun facts and history on various other London landmarks along the way. He also supplied us with some additional pubs and sights we should checkout while we were in town. Overall had a great time, and would highly recommend using Adam with Liquid History Tours!

Despite the dreary weather Freddie our guide made us feel welcome and at ease. As we were a small group he was super flexible and accommodating, tailoring a tour to our tastes with lots of history and tasty beer. We finished the day at the Seven Stars with a fabulous meal, Freddie was excellent company and very knowledgeable. We highly recommend the tour and our guide.

Boho to Soho
As part of a big birthday celebration we booked six of us onto a private tour run by Liquid History entitled Boho to Soho. Our guide for the day was Lyndon a fun and informative tour leader. He is a keen historian with a more than extensive knowledge of the many splendid hostelries of the area starting in what is known as Fitzrovia and finishing in the heart of Soho. Half a dozen inns sometimes pacing ourselves with half pints we all felt, as if, by the end of our tour, we had made a new friend! This is the second tour we have done with Liquid History and both have been very enjoyable. Thank you Lyndon for making a fun packed day feel that little bit more special 😎
