It contains 9,387 U.S. soldiers, most of whom were killed during the Normandy Landings and the Wall of the Missing with the names of 1,557 soldiers missing in action. The cliffs leading down to the beaches contain the remnants of the German defences, including concrete casemates with memorials to the soldiers.
At Normandy American Cemetery you’ll see as well the semicircular memorial colonnade with the sculpture “Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Waves” and large maps of military operations.

Mont Saint-Michel and visit to the Benedictine Abbey Our guide will bring you up the narrow streets of the mediaeval village towards the top to the Abbey. Usually we manage to join the Guided visit which is led by an expert on Mont Saint-Michel and its history. When it is not possible for some reason we provide the audio-guides for the Abbey's visit. First settled by man in the year 709 it contains a Medieval village and beautiful Abbey fortress dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel. The construction of the Benedictine Abbey started in the 700’s and continued through the 1200s. It remains practically the same since the Middle Ages as it continues to be the goal of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. Mont Saint Michel remains the most visited site in France with around 4 million tourists per year.
After the Abbey visit You'll have free time to enjoy Mont Saint-Michel city and time for lunch.

The tour was very well organized. It was a long day, but very informative. Many thanks to our guide Helen for the tour. I never thought that even in the rain (sometimes pouring), such a wonderful walk around Mont Saint-Michel could be arranged.

The guide and driver picked us up at 7am and we had time to go to the Cemetery, to the beach, even to Point de Hoc and then spent some 3 hours on Mont Saint Michal. Very much appreciate the help with organising this amazing trip!

Wow, what an incredible day exploring D-Day sites and Mont Saint Michel! The history, the views, just everything was amazing. Highly recommend this tour for an unforgettable experience!
One thing to advise: maybe consider taking a 2-day tour to really immerse yourself in the experience and make the most of it!

Absolutely fantastic experience with our 1-day private tour to D-Day and Mont Saint Michel.
