Stop At: Piazza del Popolo, 00187 Rome Italy

Piazza del Popolo is a large urban square in Rome. The name in modern Italian literally means "People's Square", but historically it derives from the poplars (populus in Latin, pioppo in Italian) after which the church of Santa Maria del Popolo, in the northeast corner of the piazza, takes its name.
The piazza lies inside the northern gate in the Aurelian Walls, once the Porta Flaminia of ancient Rome, and now called the Porta del Popolo. This was the starting point of the Via Flaminia, the road to Ariminum (modern-day Rimini) and the most important route to the north. At the same time, before the age of railroads, it was the traveller's first view of Rome upon arrival. For centuries, the Piazza del Popolo was a place for public executions, the last of which took place in 1826.

Nicola was an amazing tour guide for our one-day tour of Rome. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the city's history and was able to share it with us in a way that was both informative and entertaining. He was also very passionate about the city and his enthusiasm was contagious. In addition to his knowledge and passion, Nicola was also very accommodating. He was willing to adjust our itinerary to fit our interests and time constraints. He also made sure that we were always comfortable and well-hydrated. Overall, Nicola was an excellent tour guide and I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Rome. He made our one-day tour unforgettable.

When I was first going through the different tours and which one to decide on I decided to go with a private tour. I figured if I am traveling all the way to another country I may as well pay for a tour where I could have a personal experience where the tour was catered to what I wanted to see and at a pace I wanted to move at. Yes it costs more but you get what you pay for and I will say Limousine Services in Italy not only delivered but went above and beyond. They were so good that we booked them again for another day. The first day we had Nicola, and he was great, very well knowledge about the history of Rome and I loved the passion he had when he would talk about the ingenuity behind the ancient Roman structures. He showed us around Rome visiting sites like the Trevi Fountain, Piazza De Navona, the Colosseum, the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. We even got to experience seeing some catacombs which was amazing as we never would have thought to do that on our own. The second day we had Alessandra and she was just as amazing, very lively, fun and friendly. She took us around the Vatican showing us the museum, St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. In addition to that she took us to the Malta Villa Magistrale where we got to see a pretty amazing spectacle which we never would have heard about let alone think of going to. We also visited the Basilica of Saint Clement another location we never would have visited and got to see just how deep layers of Rome were. We had our own vehicle which really helped during the intense heat that was happening during our visit. They also provided us water to make sure we were hydrated the entire time. It was nice to have our own vehicle that we had to ourselves that would take us to various sites, the tour was also catered to things we wanted to see along with places that both Alessandra and Nicola thought we would enjoy. Lunch was not provided however they took us to some amazing Italian restaurants (again this was based on what sort of food we wanted to eat) and helped order for us to make sure we got to experience an amazing meal. I would highly recommend this tour and Limousine Services in Italy in general as they made our first visit to Rome a memorable one and really made us feel welcomed. If you are traveling to Rome for the first time and you want to make the most of your experience I would recommend going with Limousine Service. Yes they cost more than a group tour but you get what you pay for and if you are traveling a while away to experience a new place you have never visited, then what you gain in experience, convenience and memories is very much worth it.

We arrived FCO early but Nicola quickly collected us and introduced us to our guide, Alessandra. She was very knowledgeable accommodating and agile. Definitely one of the best guides we have ever had. Special arrangements for Marco to drive us to Civitavecchia to board our cruise. These guys went above what was expected. Will use them exclusively for our next Italian vacation

This was the best decision we took in Rome. We only had two days and had limited time to see all the sights. Luca and Sergio were the best guides one could ask for. They had answers to all our questions and it is amazing how much they knew about Rome. Some guides are just guides and some guides you could see yourself being friends with. Luca and Sergio are the latter. They are highly recommended! Congratulations and good luck with the baby Luca!

Great tour!!! What a way to see Rome, our tour guide was extremely knowledge and the driver super friendly and professional. We loved their company so much we treated them to lunch at a great little Italian cafe. My daughter has gluten allergies and they went above and beyond to accommodate her dietary needs. Highly recommend - we learned so much about Rome that day.
