Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Bergenhus Fortress, Bergenhus, Bergen 5003 Norway

This is a short round-trip by car to the amazing Osterfjord area.

Our professional driver-guide picks you up at your hotel in Bergen centre (or cruise ship port) and our tour starts. Departure is usually at 9:00am unless otherwise agreed.

Leaving Bergen we drive past some of the sights. The Medieval fortress of Bergenhus is one of them.

Duration: 1 minute

Stop At: Osterøy Bridge, Fv566, 5264 Bergen, Norway

From Bergen, we will travel to the Osterfjord – a fjord that surrounds one on the largest continental islands in Europe – Osterøy island, 127 square miles (330 km2).

Our first stop is at the viewpoint right after crossing the bridge over the fjord.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Dale of Norway Factory Outlet & Museum, Sandlivegen 2, 5722 Dalekvam, Norway

Returning to mainland, we move on to Dale, where the famous sweater factory is located – “Dale of Norway”. We can visit the factory outlet and maybe pick up some woolen souvenirs there.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Skipshelleren, 5727 Vaksdal, Norway

From Dale we take one of lesser-known roads going north: steep mountains, narrow fjords and secluded villages along the way.

Our next stop is at the Stone Age settlement on the Bolstadfjord: a short walk on a moderately steep trail is required.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Hesjedalsfossen, Vaksdal kommune, Norway

Moving on we come to yet another narrow fjord – the Eidsfjord – and make a stop at the magical Hesjedalsfossen waterfall: one of the most iconic sights, and yet an offbeat attraction.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Mo, Mo, Modalen Municipality, Hordaland, Western Norway

We continue our journey and reach Mo (pronounced “Moo”) – a cosy village between two waterfalls: Geitaskaret and Kvernhusfossen. Here we can have lunch at a small restaurant/café overlooking the Mofjord and Geitaskaret waterfall.

Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Kvernhusfossen, Modalen, Norway

Leaving Mo, we make a short stop at the Kvernhusfossen waterfall before returning to Bergen – an almost non-stop 1.5-hour drive.

In the winter, some of the waterfalls and fjords may be frozen.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Mostraumen, Modalen, Norway

Our next and last stop on this tour is at the Mostraumen strait - the 600 meters long, very narrow channel connecting two fjords. During the tide there is a strong current here and, of course, an amazing view (regardless of the tide).

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Osterfjorden, Alver, Norway

On our way back to Bergen we'll continue our ride along the Osterfjord - now to the west of Osterøy island.
(Usually we do not stop here.)

Duration: 1 minute

Stop At: Nordhordlandsbrua, Bergen, Norway

Before returning to Bergen we will cross the fjord on the second longest bridge in Norway - the Nordhordlandsbrua - part floating part suspension bridge.
(Usually we do not stop here)

Duration: 1 minute

Best day of our trip! We had the most amazing time on this tour and our guide Vlad was incredible!!! This tour takes you to some more remote and local locations and we were able to see some incredible spots and landscapes throughout. Vlad went above and beyond in all that we did, he was truly the best. Couldn’t recommend this tour and Vlad enough, take this tour!

I cannot speak highly enough of our journey with Vlad. Easy pick up at our hotel in Bergen with his comfy Mercedes van. The trip will just for my husband and me including a brief tour around Bergen before setting off for the beautiful fjords and mountains. Norway's beauty, even in the snow - you will get all four seasons in one day - cannot be captured by photos alone. Vlad's love of Norway shows through. He even stopped at the Wool factory outlet in Dale and helped us shop. A rigorous hike to a stone age shelter in the fjords was a highlight that many foreigners will NEVER see from a tour bus. Waterfalls and valleys were abundant. Cannot say enough about the wonderful tour. He was knowledgable , informative and very interesting. Thank you for sharing Norways' secrets with us.
