Itinerary

In the workshop, we will made ceramic related to Japanese gastronomy with clay. You can choose between the following options:

-sake set (small bottle and glass)
-sushi set (sushi plate and chopstick holder)
-chawan for tea

- It takes about 1 month and a half to ship your pottery. (Shipping fee is not included)

During the workshop, Anna, Ryo and our team will talk about Japanese culture. Participants will receive as a souvenir a small plate for sushi (decorated with traditional glazw) and a chopstick holder in the shape of a sakura flower made by Anna. If desired, the pieces made during the workshop can be sent to the participant's home (shipping costs are not included).

The workshops are given in Spanish, Catalan or English. Unlike the other experiences related to ceramics, this is the only one that is held in Spanish or Catalan.

The building is a century-old two-storey house in the south of Osaka. It is located next to a street lined with shops selling local food. The visit to the workshop is an immersion into the Japan of the Showa era. In this non-touristy area, the walk from the station to the studio shows a real Osaka that you won't find in the guidebooks.

Toured Japan with my teen son and wanted to do a hands on activity. This was PERFECT!!! We had the most fun hanging out and making pottery. Anne was so amazing and patient with us. We were greeted with hot tea and a smile. Just received our creations and we are so happy with our souvenirs!

We had a great experience with Anna and Ryo. We were picked up at the train station by Ryo and got to see a more residential side of Osaka that was a contrast to the tourist spaces. The studio was warm and inviting and Anna was a great instructor. She was warm and encouraging for a couple of newbies. It was a lot of fun to choose and make our own pieces and to see Anna’s finished work. We also enjoyed chatting with them about their life in Japan and Spain and our experiences in America. They are wonderful people and I highly recommend this workshop to anyone with an interest in ceramics.

Anna was wonderful. She met us at the destination place and walked us through a covered market owned by locals, which was a refreshing sight compared to the markets in Namba. Her studio was in a small Japanese style home and felt perfect for what we were about to learn and create. This was really a fun and rewarding experience. Anna's assistant, Fanny, was absolutely a delight. Make sure to ask Anna if you can view her work in her upstairs studio. It's worth it the 'dicey' steps going up. This was a great part of our trip !

This experience was amazing! Anna was so nice and informative! She made the experience so much fun and really encouraged you to make the piece your own. She was wonderful to talk with and even helped me out by telling me about some places I could visit nearby. I definitely recommend this experience! It was amazing and I can't wait to get my pieces in a few months and be reminded of it all!!

I enjoyed my first Japanese ceramics experience. Anna was a great teacher and went over all the different techniques with me patiently. I was able to make a chawan with Anna’s guidance and can’t wait to use it when I go back home. Thank you so much for such a fun experience.

Absolutely loved this experience! Ryo and Anna are such beautiful people! I was running late to for the pickup and panicking - Ryo waited 10+ minutes as I ran around trying to find the right spot😅 I loved learning about not just the process of making the ceramics, but also what each part was and it’s culinary meaning. Anna was an excellent teacher, but also gave me the opportunity to experiment and try play with the clay myself. Their shop is adorable, and I bought a piece afterwards as a gift for a friend. The neighbourhood is great as well - much more local and relaxed than the big tourist districts, and it was fun to go wandering afterwards. Ryo and Anna gave me recommendations around Osaka and Kyoto as well!! Overall a highlight of my trip so far, and will definitely be recommending it to friends and family! Can’t wait for my sake bottle and cup to arrive at home! Ryo also took excellent candid shots during for great memories!
