The boat ride was comfortable and not crowded. Crew was very knowledgeable about the area and were able to answer all our questions. The tour of the private island and historic fort was fun and informative. My husband is a real history buff and was captivated. One of his favorite activities on our trip so far! Highly recommend!!

Great tour. Guide was excellent, fort was very interesting. Wonderful views from boat and island/fort. Be aware that there is walking on uneven surfaces, stairs, and ramps.

This is the most memorable excursion. The tour guide is absolutely amazing. This knowledge, details and history of the island are fantastic. The crew on the boat is remarkable. If you are in the area, this is not to be missed.

I don't believe I can fairly rate this excursion because we didn't get to go.
Apparently, there's a minimum number of guests needed for the excursion. I didn't see that anywhere in the description.
Long story shortened, hubs and I were the only two who booked it. The company kept trying to move us to Saturday or Monday, which were not options since we are traveling by cruise ship.
No matter how many times I told them we couldn't change days, they just kept asking. In the end, the excursion was canceled.
I can certainly understand why, but it was still disappointing.
So my advice is this: if you choose to book this excursion, check in with the operator at least a week prior.

The history from the guide was great!
The description when signing up does not say that you get off boat and walk around House Island. I was not prepared for that but the stops along the way made it do-able!

Front start to finish - it was a very enjoyable trip. I always like to hear historical stories and there is a lot of history packed into the island and fort. Pleasant captain and first mate - thanks again!
