Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson

I had a private surf lesson with Mike. At 62 surfing was on my bucket list and Mike was the perfect person to get me there. Kind, patient, thorough are just a few words to describe Mike. I would highly recommend a private lesson so you can enjoy some conversation with this outstanding person.

I hope this message is to, or gets forwarded to the supervisor for both Dane and Tyler. I had a surfing lesson today with Dane. I got there early and hung around with Tyler for a while to get some pointers and the lay of the land. He was very personable and sweet, and a good representative for you guys. Then I met Dane, and we began our land lesson, where he was clear, helpful and covered the needed subject until I was comfortable with the instructions. Let me say, I ama 69 year old woman, who was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but in reasonable shape, and a frequent swimmer. So, up for the adventure, but also a little scared! Dane was absolutely wonderful, reassuring and he literally towed me out to the waves after my neck kind of gave out with the paddling. I can't express how kind and supportive he was and I felt encouraged to keep trying to get up (difficult given a sore and constrained hip). He was always looking out for my safety and my limits. And after each faceplant, I was still laughing and enjoying every minute of it. I did get up for a few seconds and really, loved it so much, if we were not leaving tomorrow, I would book another lesson. Just wanted to let you know that you have two lovely employees and I hope they both grow and prosper with your company. Solid guys. Thanks so much for this very cool experience! Had a fantastic private lesson with Matt little over a week ago. I had last surfed 45+ years ago so needless to say I was a bit rusty, but Matt was quick to get me back to riding waves again. Best of all, he delivers his surfing wisdom with a big dose of patience and good humor! I also bought the videos and pictures so I can relive that unforgettable hour.

My 12 year old took a private lesson with Matthew on Christmas Day. It was a fantastic experience! Matthew was very knowledgable, funny, and put my child at ease. He had her laughing while working on riding a wave and had her up on the board very quickly. He even entertained her from time to time by doing handstands on his board! She had a fantastic hour, learned to balance and ride the waves, and would absolutely be taking another lesson if we had not returned home. If you have a child looking to take a lesson, I highly recommend Matthew at WBS. In addition, Miwa, worked tirelessly for over a day to try and find another instructor for us for another lesson. Due to it being Christmas Day, we struck out. But, she went above and beyond in her efforts to find one for us. Thanks WBS! P.S. We also bought the pictures & videos of our kid!

Excellent lesson. My 8 year old daughter learned to surf in one hour and she loved her teacher. They also offer photos and videos (for a cost)- which are worth every penny because your kid surfing is the coolest thing! It’s very very very hard to find the location- so call for directions!

My fiance and I signed up for private lessons with Mike and he was extremely helpful! He was very patient and by the end we had a somewhat decent success rate for our first time!

Brought our kids here to enjoy surfing lessons in the past, so when we asked them what they wanted to do on their last day of Winter Break from school, they asked to come back! We enjoyed a great day of surf and sunshine with our favorite surf instructor, Don. He was so patient, and our 8 year old daughter was up and surfing in no time! We loved it and will be sure to return. Thank you for the excellent experience Don and all of the friendly staff!

We had 3 eager young boys, 7, 9, and 10 from the Pacific Northwest visiting for a few weeks. Born and raised in Hawaii, I taught my sons to surf when they were at a similar age over 20 years ago. I have been familiar with Waikiki beach services for many years and did not hesitate to ask them to give my boys surf lessons. Each boy had his own surf instructor who had all three standing up and catching waves within a few minutes of being in the lineup. Of course, the dry land orientation and expert tips on surfing before going into the water contributed to their success on the waves. I cannot overstate how “stoked” the boys were and they all agreed that this was the highlight of their trip to Hawaii. They have done all kinds of things since they’ve been here, so that is very high praise. I would definitely recommend Waikiki beach services to visitors, friends, and family. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. Mahalo.

I was hesitant to take a surf lesson at 42 as I have never even attempted to surf, skateboard, snowboard, etc....but I am so glad I did. Matt was the best instructor: patient, encouraging, positive, and knowledgable. Thanks to his excellent teaching, and some well timed pushes, I caught more than one wave! He made me feel like I was ripping the Banzai Pipeline:) I would highly recommend this company and instructor. Couldn't have had a better experience! Thanks, Jennifer
