Oniel's has become known for being a part of the HBO Sex and the City TV Series. The bar stood in for SCOUT and owned by Carrie and Miranda’s ex-boyfriends, Aidan and Steeve. The bar proudly claims that it is famous for being the replacement for that “casually hip” bar. The main feature of the Grand Street Bar for any Sex and the City watcher is the interior and furniture design that Carrie made for her first boyfriend Aidan.
The interior mostly consists of dark, shiny and hand-carved wood, but most importantly it feels like the bar was specifically built for the show and Aidan. The fans of the series would confirm this claim if recall Carrie’s quote upon her first time looks at the SCOUT: “There was no sign for him, but he was everywhere. In the mahogany bar, wood floors, carved ceiling. The whole place looked and felt just like Aidan.”

My best friend and I have been looking forward to this trip to the city and the tour for some time. Our guide Monia Bonaldo was absolutely perfecto! She kept in contact letting us know exactly what to expect and where to meet. She informed us of things the actual Viator site DID NOT eg. Walking tour. Also you do have to pay a minimal fee for subway to certain area. Monia made our tour amazing. Her knowledge of the city and all the extras made for a wonderful day. She is someone I would like to be friends with in my every day life. I wish her the best and would request her for another tour....

Your guide never showed up. When I called him he sounded like he was asleep and said he didn’t know the tour was that day. I called and requested a refund. I haven’t heard back yet

Tour did not focus on the tour we paid for. He expected us to pay for his train ride to the locations we were going to. He talked about every building we passed which had nothing to do with our tour. I was very unsatisfied with this tour guide. I would suggest you use your own city map app and do it yourself.

This is definitely not the glamorous experience I wanted. It was never specified this was a walking tour, I was by myself with the tour guide. Had to walk the whole time and on top of that I had to pay for transportation. And it’s all things I could’ve googled and done for free. I honestly want my money back.

We discontinued the tour 10 minutes in. It was obvious the guide was either a. Not a fan of the show or b.had never actually watched the show (she couldn’t remember Cynthia Nixon character, uhhh Miranda!) I have done this tour on 2 other occasions and it was AMAZING! Very disappointed.

This tour was fabulous! Our tour guide told us not just sex in the city facts but facts about the city of New York too! The highlight of the trip was definitely seeing the New York public library where Carrie and Big almost got married. Then learning about how the idea of rubber sneakers were made right there in the by library. Our tour guide, Moniane, was extremely knowledgeable and asked us if there was any places we wanted to go, she was very flexible! Definitely a highlight of our week in New York!
