The experience was authentic and informative. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. We had flight delays and they took us a few minutes past our scheduled time. We also had lost our luggage at the airport and the host and his family gave us some of their clothes until we were able to get some for ourselves! I recommended anybody reading this try this experience for themselves. The Sake was great but the company was even better!

The raw and authentic experience that we needed for Japan. A moment to really sit down and dive deep into the beautiful culture of japan. This experience was truly a must if you want a chance to get away from touristy things, and gain more insight into japan. A time where you can sit down with the locals and enjoy a tea ceremony with a tea master and learn about different kinds of sake and whiskey. They were so sweet and so kind as well. Such genuine people!

We were warmly greeted. The house is old and charming. We were dressed in our kimonos in separate rooms. We got an overview of tea ceremonies and then had ours. The ceremony was beautiful and meditative. I'm not a fan of tea (my girlfriend LOVES it) and the matcha from the tea ceremony was fantastic. A ton of photos were taken of us individually and together, before and after the tea ceremony. After the tea ceremony we made matcha. I got a dram of Japanese whisky that was delightful. I definitely recommend this experience.

The best experience we had during our stay in Japan ! The hosts are amazing, we were received privately with no other tourists and every detail was authentic. The matcha tea ceremony was made by a master of the japanese traditional arts (koto, ikebana and tea). The sake were all delicious. Everyone was so nice and they took great photos of us. Thank you for an amazing time !

It was such a lovely experience! The team was very nice, patient and had a very good English. It was worth the money, we made a lot of special activities during our visit. The samurai house itself was very authentic, clean and beautiful.

By far this is one of the best experiences I have had whilst here in Japan. Although I had taken the time to research the right tea ceremony, I was completely blown away by the experience. My partner and I arrived to a warm and friendly welcome from our host and tea master. We were given lots of historical information about the house, the tea ceremony and how to participate in the ceremony before it started. Watching the tea master perform the actual tea ceremony was simply enchanting, we were guided throughout the ceremony before then choosing to learn how to make Matcha or Sake tasting. I chose the Matcha lesson and my partner chose the Sake tasting which suited us perfectly, our host even allowed me to taste some Sake as well before we took pictures (him with the Samurai and me in a Kimono). This experience has been the highlight of our trip, thank you so much to our hosts for making this experience so special.

This very special, private tea ceremony was the highlight of our time in Kyoto. From the first moment, we were greeted with a warm welcome. My husband, our son (14) and I learned so much about the history of the tea ceremony, including what to say and how to drink the tea in a ritual manner. As the tea ceremony began, we took a moment to deepen presence and set an intention for harmony within ourselves and between each other. The matcha was delicious - high quality, organic matcha. And it was so special to have the hosts take our picture in the kimono (women) and holding the swords (men). This tea ceremony exceeded our expectations, and our family will hold this experience very fondly in our hearts as we remember our time in Japan!
