Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Malecon Tarapaca, Boulevard Tarapaca, Iquitos Peru01 Peru

You will visit Malecón Tarapacá which is the main boulevard of Iquitos where you will see grand buildings constructed during Iquitos' golden age, the rubber boom of the late 19th century. There are also many restaurants that you may wish to visit again later during your stay. We will take a short walk from there to the Belén Marketplace.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Belen, Iquitos Peru

The Belén Market is the largest exotic local marketplace in Iquitos, there you will experience local flavor and see how the local people live. The market contains many food products harvested from the Amazon River and jungle: Alligator meat, wild boar, piranhas, turtle eggs, etc. There is also a jungle pharmacy called Pasaje Paquito that sells traditional indigenous medicine such as special herbs and roots.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Belen, Iquitos Peru

Next we will travel to the Floating City of Belén adjacent to the Belén Marketplace. You will see spectacular views of the River Itaya (a large clearwater Amazon tributary). The Floating City is built entirely on the water, and depending on the river level and the time of year, you may see the enormous wooden support structure below the city which is anchored underwater in the riverbed. You will also see the local residents who live and work there, and the construction of their floating houses. Many boats of all sizes will pass by carrying fishermen, hunters, and merchants.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Amazon River, Iquitos 16000 Peru

We will take a different route back to Iquitos City that will include spectacular views of the Amazon River itself, one of the seven wonders of the natural world. There you will see where the clear water of the Rio Itaya meets the chocolate-colored water of the Amazon. If we're lucky you may be able to spot pink and gray river dolphins jumping and playing in this area.

Kelwin was an incredible guide and very knowledgeable. He took me through the Belen market, floating neighborhood, and the animal rescue center. Everything went very smoothly and I felt safe at all times. I will be going on more tours with Kelwin this summer.

Kelwin and I met just walking down the street and then he took me on a real, and I mean REAL local style tour of Iquitos. It was amazing, if you are there, and would like to see the markets, the river, how the locals live with the tide coming up and down literally 3 or 4 meters, it's just something you won't get from a traditional organised tour group. He's also just a very chill, easy going guy. I felt like we became friends rather than just someone showing me around. Highly recomend!

We spend wonderful two days with Kelwin and his assistance Paul in Iquitos. First day we did a floating village tour and next morning we visited the famous Belen market. Both days were very interesting and it was fantastically colorful. Those two activities are definitely a must when you are in Iquitos. Communication with Kelwin was extremely easy and efficient. I strictly recommend his services to any tourist in Iquitos.
