There are two types of chapati: the classic chapati found mainly in the capital Tunis and in the north and the so-called Mahdia chapati, present throughout the Sahel region. What a great tour! Achreef and Iyed did an amazing job of taking us all around Tunis and finding all of the best street food. There was so much to enjoy, so much to try and we really felt like we got a personalized experienced (as well as a tour of parts of the Medina that we otherwise never would have seen). Achreef was very kind, knowledgeable and always keen to strike up a conversation — he did a fantastic job touring us around, five stars!

This was a very nice tour with a ton of food. The main guide, Mehdi, brought along his college-student nephew, Achref, who speaks better English, which was great, because Achref was able to explain everything very well and to carry on a normal conversation, beyond just the tour highlights, so I learned a lot about what life is like in Tunisia from him. I loved all of the food and was absolutely stuffed when the tour was done. When I return to Tunis, I will definitely call upon Achref to guide me around again, and he offered to take me to some different places to see the social scene, which I'm looking forward to. If I had one dig on the experience, it was that Mehdi had a second agenda on the tour, which was to obtain video footage for his substantial social media presence as tunisian_street_food on Instagram etc., so sometimes his attention seemed to be elsewhere, but this was mitigated by having Achref there as a second guide. In Achref, I feel like I made a new friend. I highly recommend this experience and recommend requesting that Achref be included on your tour.

Mehdi & Achref were AMAZING! This was the best tour we had in Tunis! We did this tour the day we landed and it was incredible to jump right into the culture and feel like a local. The food was SO GOOD and they were very thoughtful always ensuring we ordered what we liked - harissa is amazing but our spice tolerance is low :) They provided us with water, tea and a local soda! The market is such a cool experience and they knew the best places to stop. I would recommend bringing cash to shop - it’s the perfect time to get unique gifts for home. We learned about a Tunisian card game and it’s the perfect gift!! Highly recommended - we thought about going again tomorrow!!

I loved this trip. Ashraf was a terrific guide with his cousin Ayed. Friendly and knowledgeable and lovely company, they took me to great restaurants I would never have found by myself and gave me so much great information about what we were eating and how it was made. The food was really delicious, and we laughed and chatted our way around the Medina and close neighborhood. It was really a lovely morning. I heartily recommend the tour. Go hungry!!

We did this tour as a group of 3 and had such a great time. We tried lots of local street food and visited the fish and vege markets. Mehdi and Eddy were fantastic guides, we had a lot of laughs along the way. One of our group is vegetarian and she was able to fully participate. I definitely recommend doing this tour!

Tunisian Street Foods and team were amazing! They brought Eddy with them as an English Translator and his incredible English made the entire day so informative and fun! We adjusted our schedule on the fly to accolade at stop at Palais d’Orient to look at Carpets. The food was incredible, but not too spicy! We’ve been on numerous other food tours across the world and this was the best, by far!!!
