Pass By: Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf, Bergen 5003 Norway

Enjoy convenient pickup from your Bergen hotel at 7:45 a.m. Meet your dedicated tour guide and feel free to share any interests or preferences; your itinerary is flexible and this private tour ensures personalized attention. Hit the E16 road in your private vehicle, traveling by the famous Dale of Norway sweater factory in the village of Dale, then through the town of Voss.

Make a brief stop at the Tvindefossen waterfall for photos, take a deep breath of mountain air to smell the clean, pristine waters. Continue your trip to the Stalheim Hotel to visit its well-known terrace, which opens up to fantastic views over the Nærøydalen Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Back in your vehicle, descend the dramatically steep Stalheimskleiva Road to the valley's floor, where you will visit the ancient village of Gudvangen. (notice Stalheimskleiva is closed between Oct 1'st and April 1'st)

Depart from Gudvangen on a cruise (additional cost) to Flåm, exploring the area around the Aulandsfjord and Nærøyfjord.

Choose between an RIB, a motor yacht and a passenger ferry for your cruise. Upon arrival at Flåm, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant (own expense), then enjoy free time to browse the souvenir shops, the museum of Flåmsbana railway or the local microbrewery at your leisure.

After lunch, get back in the car and head towards the scenic Stegastein viewing point, a 30-meter long platform hanging over Aurlandsfjord at 650 meters above sea level. The narrow road and the viewing point will give you some breathtaking pictures and vivid emotions (not visited between Oct 1 st and April 1 st due to snow). Board the Flåmsbana railway from Flåm to the mountain railway station Myrdal, located 2,844 feet (867m) above sea level. During the scenic journey, have your camera ready for views of canyons, mountainsides and waterfalls. Make a brief stop at the gushing Kjøsfossen waterfall. Change trains at Myrdal to head back to Voss; upon arrival you can tour a medieval church dating from 1277 and an 11th-century stone cross. Lastly, take the 1.5-hour return journey by car to your hotel in Bergen to conclude your tour.

Bjorn was prompt, professional, and tailored our trip to meet the needs of our small group, me and my 24YO son. We learned lots of history and random facts about Norway and Norwegians, and had a great time! It is a long day, 11 hours, mostly driving, but it is very scenic, there are well-timed stops for food and restroom, and not having to drive or be in a tourist bus makes it so nice! The personal attention is what you are paying for, and it is definitely worth it!

This private tour was the best experience in our trip to Norway. The Sognefjprd may not be referred in the different sites when looking for tour, but it may be one of the best fjords to visit. Due to its small width we were able to come close to the shores and see from a close distance the waterfalls and the beautiful villages. This fjord is unspoiled by mass tourism and i believe it must be one of the most breathtaking scenery. Because of the customisable nature of the tour we were able to stop and had a swim in the fjord!! Our captain and the crew were very nice people, funny and explaining to us the Norvegean way of life. The most important thing was that it was only us on board (6 adults and 8 children) and not stuck on big boats where someone is always blocking your view. It all seemed so intimate and took the best pictures!!

We were picked up directly at our hotel by the Guide and soon got out of town by a comfortable 6 seater Mercedes where all of us 4 had captains chairs. Was better feet space and comfort than we had in our plane. The Guide took care of all our luggage and we had the most educating conversation along the way to Voss about the scenery we saw. In Gudvange the wonderfull Mr Robert made sure we were to board the Premium cruise before the others - as he knew the personnel onboard the ship. We got more than we expected as he made a fast track for us where none is available to purchase. And this way - we had a first-row seat to the spectacular scenery from the cruise in the Naeroyfjord. The entire day was a true first-class experience where we could see how other travelers were bugged by not having a first-class service. The entire tour was a true delight and comes highly recommended. Kindly Gunter, Walter and Ulrike

Namaste from India! Last year me and my three girlfriends had a wonderful private tour to Flam. We have never seen something spectacular as Norwegian fjords!!! We had a amazing experience in Flam, nice ride by Flam steep railway which provided us with incredible views. We also want to mention our guide who was fantastic from a start to the end of the trip. We thank her once again for a wonderful day! I hope to come back one day with my family!!!

Last year, we had the best tour ever :), we had a wonderful time (I, my wife, and our eight years old daughter). We were lucky to see many things in a short time, and our guide did bring us to a few extra special places to see 800 years old Stave Church, a beautiful waterfall, and lookout point to see Fjord from above. Flåm was very crowded, but we didn't spend there to much time. The train ride was very enjoyable, and the views are just breathtaking. Overall we are happy with this tour, and we do recommend it! Big thanks to our guide, we don't remember her name, but she made that day very special for my family, thank you!

Here is the review: We are a family of four that wanted to make one of our days while in Norway unique and decided to opt for a private tour for the first time. From our perspective, the tours offered in Norway was costly. But when on vacation - we decided to "go all the way" for once. And what a day! We were picked up from the hotel by Mario, and while we were at breakfast he already stoved our luggage in the Mercedes van, and we were heading for the Flam Railway and the Sognefjord with a warm coffee to go. Driving through unique scenery, we arrived at the Naeroyfjord cruise where Mario had our tickets ready, and we entered the smooth designer cruise ship taking us into the UNESCO fjord. This left us more or less speechless, and the electric boat had only the sound of clean water passing the hull. What a superb ride through a landscape that can't be seen by car. In Flam the smiling Mario was waiting, and as we had nothing to eat, he had pre-ordered locally made Sandwiches from the Bakery. Crunchy sourdough bread with local smoked Salmon and egg was absolutely a lunch meal to have on the go. We made one mistake and did not have the prebooked tickets for the Flam Railway. This left us with no availability and not even Mario could pull strings to find a space. However he is a true local, and drove us up the tracklayers road just next to the Flamsbana and this was as good a replacement. We left Flam around four o'clock and got to Bergen just in time to have a delicious snack meal with the famous Bergen fish soup at a restaurant that is called Bryggeloftet. Bottom line..: The tour is expensive like anything in Norway. But being guided by a local and not having all the trouble the rest of the herded people onboard the busses had - made it so worth while.

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel quite often and we feel that our trip in Scandinavia particularly Norway, the road trip from Oslo to Bergen, was one of the best and memorable we have ever had so far in our life. The whole experience from the first time we sped off from the hotel in Oslo to checking in to our hotel in Bergen was almost faultless. At first, I was a little disappointed when Bjorn informed me that he was injured and not available to be our guide/driver, fearing that the tour will be different without him. However, he made sure that we are in good hands. Hanne, Bjorn’s replacement, was fantastic and went way beyond all expectations to show us everything she possibly could. She was our photographer and never complained, she was not strict as to the time and had never shown impatience. She was truly focused on the customer ensuring we were satisfied. She assisted us willingly to our comfort. Good for us who took advantage of the time clicking shots here and there. She even said that this is our trip, make the most of it to our satisfaction. The guide's itinerary as suggested by the company owner, Bjorn, were very informative and friendly. I would certainly use this Company and Hanne as driver again. We will recommend them to our friends and family. Norway is such a wonderful, colorful, and diverse country and this tour certainly knows how to show it off to full advantage. This is one trip that we never regret taking, we were truly amaze with the beautiful sights that we never thought existed. We highly recommend this tour with Bjorn and Hanne. We really enjoyed our time throughout the trip. Please note that this is the first that I am submitting a review and would be selfish if I will not share our glorious experience with this particular trip. Bjorn and Hanne, thank you very much for everything!

Our trip with Bjorn was a great one! We really enjoyed it and we made fantastic memories of our time on the tour. Initially, I was a bit nervous because communications ahead had been a bit awkward at times as he was very busy with the height of the tour season. He was kind to chat by phone, though, for more efficient communication at one point, since emailing had been delayed a bit, and we needed to secure the details for itinerary and payment etc. He definitely needs some office help and is aware and plans to hire more assistance to take care of emailing and the communications for trip details. Our itinerary was Bergen to Flam and then on to Norway the next day was it was really terrific for our family of five adults (no teens, but TA doesn’t give that choice). I would strongly suggest flying into Bergen and spending some time there, and then starting the fjord tour from Bergen as we did. We were picked up from our hotel in Bergen by Mario, who was really nice, and he drove us to meet Bjorn for the private boat tour of the fjords. It was a perfect day! We were the only boat in the fjords and Bjorn provided all the gear we needed for a safe trip. (The entry and exits for the boat was a bit tricky, but Bjorn later told me he does have different docks he can use for disabled riders, which I was glad to hear and might suggest for future riders.) Additionally he was very safe with the boat all afternoon. (And he’s a safe driver too!). Bjorn navigated through the fjord and was a very interesting guide. We learned a lot about past and present life along the fjords. It was beautiful and time exceptionally well spent for our time in Norway. We traveled on to Flam just to overnight (not much there to see or do but it was just a stop for the night). The next day we traveled by train on the Flam railroad so we could see the famous views, and Bjorn met us at our stop with all our luggage and made that trip on to Oslo enjoyable and interesting as well! All along the way Bjorn was super accommodating and friendly, and we had lots of interesting conversation, which was so enjoyable. Of course the sights along the way by car are incredible! He knew exactly how to plan the route and made it such a good tour. We would recommend Bjorn to anyone wanting to take this kind of tour. It was certainly one of the highlights of our time in Scandinavia! Thanks again to you, Bjorn, and your team.

Hanne picked us up at our Bergen hotel and drove us to Gudvangen. We took a 2-hour catamaran trip from there through the Nærøyfjord and on to Flam, where she picked us up for a delicious lunch on the marina then sent us on our jaw-dropping rail trip to Voss. We had traveled by train from Oslo to Bergen a few days earlier but did not want to drag all of our luggage through trains, boats and buses in typical self-guided Nutshell fashion. It was so much better to hear about what we were seeing from a local and to go at our own pace in a private van with plenty of stops for the best places for photos and coffee, etc. Hanne patiently explained about Norwegian customs and history and geography and folklore and daily life (and more) while making sure we had all the best views, tasted the best local treats, and avoided the long lines. She treated us like family and we heartily recommend her!
