The tour begins in the beautiful baroque garden of Mirabell Palace.
Pass By: Mozart Residence (Mozart Wohnhaus), Makartplatz 8, Salzburg 5020 Austria
Then we take a look at Mozart's house.

We reach the old town via the Salzach River. Medieval house passages lead to Getreidegasse with its traditional guild signs and numerous shops. There we stop in front of the house where Mozart was born.
Pass By: Kollegienkirche (Collegiate Church), Universitatsplatz, Salzburg Austria
Right next to it, an arcaded courtyard leads to the Grünmarkt and the Kollegienkirche, the first church to be built in the Austrian Baroque era.
Pass By: Alter Markt, Goldgasse, Salzburg 5020 Austria
After a look at the town hall we come to the Alter Markt with Mozart's favorite café, Mozart ball shops and luxury shops.
Pass By: Residenzplatz, Residenzpl. 4, Salzburg 5020 Austria
The so-called princely town begins right next to it. At the Residenzplatz we see the old and new Residenz and in the center the largest baroque fountain outside of Italy.
Pass By: Salzburg Cathedral, Kapitelplatz 2, Salzburg 5020 Austria
After a short detour to Mozartplatz we stand in front of the monumental Salzburg Cathedral, the largest and oldest baroque church north of the Alps.
Pass By: Kapitelplatz & Kapitelschwemme, Kapitelplatz, Salzburg 5020 Austria
The tour ends at Kapitelplatz. There is the St. Peter's Abbey, the oldest monastery in the German-speaking world and the cradle of Christianity in Austria. The absolute highlight here is the view of Hohensalzburg Fortress, the symbol of Salzburg.

I had a great experience with this tour! The guide was excellent. He very knowledgable about the history of the city. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.

It was one of the worst tours we ever had. The tour guide was an older man, who kept making suggestive jokes and was extremely not professional. He made a lot of inappropriate comments about the history with expressing his opinion on historical figures and events. I could tell he knows the history pretty well, but my friend and I were so put off by his comments that nothing went in and we could not wait to get to out.
I think Viator need to verify their tour guides in more diligent way. Very disappointed

Florian provided a wonderful introduction to Salzburg, filled with lots of history and, by request, a smattering of Sound of Music tidbits 😉. Highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was excellent. He was well prepared, well informed, pleasant, and excited about his work as a tour guide. He told us about the history of Salzburg, as well as points of interest of the movie Sound of Music. I recommend taking this tour so you know what you are viewing- it makes a huge difference.

Great insight into Salzburg’s history. The tour also included several spots that were featured in the Sound of Music which added a bit of fun. The walk was at a good steady pace, so not too taxing for someone with mobility issues. Fantastic.
