It was relaxing and nice to paint a chi chi. I had a nice time. I would had put 4 stars because of the rudeness of the tall skinny employee because he had a uncall attitude when he told me to put a shirt on and that it’s not a beach. Was rude. Even though the owner said it was ok before hand and even after he was told this he continue having an attitude. And he didn’t even apologize either but I won’t let his stupidity ruin a nice place. I just hope the owner does handle this matter and deal with him because it was really uncalled for. Other then that me and my friends and lover enjoy the experience.

What a fun morning, even if you don’t have the talent! We each picked our favourite unpainted chichi and made it our own. Great fun!

The chichi dolls are amazing and the shop in Punda (Willemstad) is cute. Getting to the factory is another story. When planning my vacation, a chichi painting lesson was #1 on the list! But unless you rent a car it is a very expensive outing. A round trip cab from piscadera bay is 130$. The workshop is also only on Tuesday and Saturday unless you arrange a private session which sets you back another 160$ for a group up to 12 (the dolls you paint are at an additional cost, starting at 28$ for the smallest figurine). In the end we decided that the price tag was just too steep and changed our plans. Bottom line? Wanna see the chichi dolls made and not just buy one? Get your transportation sorted. Want to see the factory AND paint yourself? Prepare an early rising as the location is about 30mins from piscadera or Jan Thiel and class starts at 9am Tuesday and Saturday. If you can make these two work (affordable transportation and walk-in session) it is affordable but since little is found on the web about these hurdles - transportation and timetable - it says "daily" but this is only if you book privately - do your homework. Maybe a small pre-painted chichi made by a local artist isn't that bad after all... My advice to Serena? Do more walk-ins, no stress. There are plenty of al fresco locations in both Willemstad and around Jan Thiel (it's no biggie to set up shop at changing locations!), post the calendar online or print it on paper as a hand-out and many more creatives will find their way!

A wonderful and cultural business. This is definitely a nice place to visit and spend the day. The Chichi's are cultural to Curacao, and this business offers services to immerse their customers within the culture by teaching them how to create their own Chichi. Spend the day, learn the culture, speak with the workers, and walk away with a different vibe. 🫶

We had a group of 9 and had a great time painting Chichis and learning about their history. It was a nice get away from the activity of downtown and the beaches and the host/teacher was very helpful. Funny anecdote - as I went through airport security the x-ray reader got a chuckle out of the chichis in my carryon
