Highly recommend this for families! Bobo is professional and knowledgeable and gave everyone in our family the tools and confidence we needed to successfully surf, even as complete newbies! Our group was 4 adults and 4 kids ages 7-13 and we all learned to surf within our 2hr time frame with Bobo. The beach in Cabrete is about a 45min taxi ride from Puerto Plata and very scenic as you go through the small local towns. Take your own snacks and water as the little beach places in Cabrete didn’t accept USD or credit cards. Bobo we hope to be back!

Huge appreciation to Bobo and the instructors for a watershed day learning to surf! They were able to teach us beginners; to our wonderful surprise, my husband and I were catching waves within an hour of practice- it was so fun that we came back again to get even better

It was a really nice surf experience! The teachers are very good and take time to explain the technics on land before going in the water. They accommodated me very well when I had to push back the lesson because I was late because of traffic. You learn in a really nice environment!

We had an amazing time! Bobo really took his time to explain everything to us and let us practice on land until we were comfortable and he felt we were ready for the water. You can tell how passionate he is about surfing and how much he loves teaching others about his sport. He helped the four of us, along with another instructor, the whole time we were in the water which really helped us have a great experience. So much fun! Make sure to grab some refreshing juice after from the nice man who drives along the road near the beach.

I had 4 private lessons with Bobo and it turned out to be the best surfing class I could have imagined. I had some basic surf skills and Bobo helped me to work on improving the basics and brought me to the next level.
He explained so many details and very thorough analysis about my practice which helped me a lot to improve day by bay. Compared to other schools he is really able to make you ready for the real deal !!!!

Bobo’s surf instruction is top notch. He focuses on technique and fundamentals of surfing to enhance progression. He helped me with paddling, footwork, turning and arm placement.

Our two teenage daughters absolutely loved Bobo Surfing!! The guys who gave them lessons were very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Our girls had zero surfing experience, but Bobo Surfing had them up and catching waves in no time. They were very good about keeping them safe and helping them learn good surfing skills. Our girls had the time of their lives and can't wait to get back out on the waves. Thanks, Bobo!!!!

What an incredible experience!!!
My 17 y/o daughter and I could not have had a better teacher! Bobo was patient and his teaching technique comprehensible and logical. Basically Bobo made learning to surf fun, with a strong emphasis on safety.
Certainly I highly recommend Bobo and his team.

I usually don’t write reviews. However, I feel like I have to share my experience. Bobo is the real deal. He is a local surfer that has been around forever, knows everyone and is down to earth. He has real world experience from all his travels. He knows the spots better than anyone. It’s also pretty cool that the surf spot is actually named after him.
I chose the private classes because my time was limited and I wanted to squeeze as much quality surf time as I could. I appreciated the class not starting very very early. After all, I was on vacation with my non surfing wife. We started on time, warmed up on the beach, went through the basics, studied the waves and talked about the days goals. He supplied the right board for my level and as I progressed through the week, the surfboards I was riding we’re getting smaller. Whenever I felt nervous, anxious or had any doubts, Bobo answered my questions and slowly pushed me passed my comfort zone.
I came back from the trip a much better surfer. I have a new perspective on reading the waves and being at the right spot. I can surf bigger better waves and I feel I’m a much safer and confident surfer because of the time I invested with Bobo.
My trip was in Sept 2020 and I’m already booked to return Nov 2020. I have no regrets and look forward to working with Bobo to take my surfing to the next level. I recommend him 100%.
