We booked this as part of our honeymoon holiday and it was fabulous from start to finish. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and we felt truly looked after throughout with lunch, refreshments and even peppermint towels after our rainforest walk. The estate is also just beautiful. Highly recommend this tour

I would highly recommend this tour. Jiggy was a really knowledgeable and funny tour guide, talking us through the life of a cocoa tree from a seed, letting us name a sapling and walking us through their reserve. We got to see cocoa pods, sample cool chocolate drinks which were a welcome relief after the walk and then make our own bars which was really fun. Included in the ticket was the most delicious lunch which included refreshing fruit mocktails and coco infused delicacies. Really tasty!

We booked via Viator for one adult and a child. It was a mum and daughter day-out. The first part of the tour involved going into the cocoa field and the greenhouse - it was interesting and the guide was funny, with a dry sense of humour. After the field tour, you climbed a series of steps (this part may not be suitable if you have health or breathing problems) to the bar area where they served tiny shots of cold cocoa (about half a shot glass). The chocolate didn't blend well with the milk, so it was a bit lumpy. It was also a miserly portion. Then we headed to the table to pound the beans into chocolate. The lady doing this section was knowledgeable, with a nice dry sense of humour. I have an autistic 11 year-old, so she needed help here. I couldn't get the chance to help her as the staff chose this time to interrupt me as they couldn't find my booking. I had to leave my daughter, call my husband to drive down with my phone in order to get a confirmation. In the end, they still could not find it and began making sarcastic remarks and rolling their eyes - "she said she booked but her name not here." All the while, I missed the balance of the session and my daughter was left alone and it was lunch-time. They would not let her eat. She had to sit and wait downstairs without food while everyone around her ate. So I paid again, only for my daughter to be told that they made meals depending on the numbers of bookings, so she would have to wait a good while. She finally got to eat when everyone else was finished. (The food portions are TINY, the burger is the size of a golf-ball). And GUESS WHAT? When I returned to London, there were two bookings - all paid for on my card. I called Project Chocolat, and they knew the extra payment was there - but they never contacted me. It was an unenjoyable day. I won't recommend it with children or teenagers. Fond Doux does a better experience and the staff may be better.

Nice overview of the process. I would have expected some more detail about the fermentation and the “real” way of making chocolate. Nice experience of making you own bar. Prices in the shop way above any reasonable level. I have not seen anyone buying anything

We enjoyed the tour although it was a bit unorganized but wasn't surprised as the hotel was the same way. Nice grounds. I wish and hoped we could make flavored chocolate

Bean to Bar Tour - Great concept and making the choc bar was good fun but… tour group was far to big (about 30 people) the rainforest walk to plantation was all of 100m to see just a couple of cacao trees with no option to see harvest, drying, processing etc. I really wanted to see the full process! For a site that pushed its eco credentials v disappointed to see single use plastics (spoons in making choc, dressing pots etc), air con blasting in loos with doors open, not much green energy present (why not solar on all shed roofs). Experience was really saved by our guide (Veronique) who injected her passion and personality otherwise felt it was really not great value and could (should?) have been so much more

Tree to Bar was “ok” but calling it an experience is a bit of marketing. The talk about cocoa farming was interesting but the scale of the trees they took is round felt more like a garden than a plantation. Equally some of the features described were 2-3 mins of the talk. Chocolate making was fun and food was nice but it was a lot of money for what you got. Had it been £20 less I’d have said it was good or excellent.

Very good experience. Tree to bean was very informative and guides were knowledgeable. Making your own chocolate bar was great fun. Lunch was delicious. It was incredibly hot, so some fans in the chocolate making and lunch areas would have been lovely.

As big chocolate fans, it was increrdible to learn about the prroduction of cacao all the way into the production of chocolate. Our guide was really funny and shared so much interesting information with us. Rabot estate is so beautiful, and walking through the farm was so lush and colorful. We also got to taste the cacao pulp, which was really fun and absolutely delicious. Later getting to make our own chocolate bars was so fun, but also really hard. Really makes you appreciate chocolate!
