This is a great choice for first-time visitors to Puerto Plata. Swap noisy and crowded sightseeing buses for a private tour experience. Travel between dispersed sites in a private air-conditioned vehicle and learn about the history and culture of Puerto Plata. Highlights of the trip include a visit to a rum factory, ocean views at San Felipe Fortress, a chocolate-making factory, and a cable-car ride towards Isabel de Torres Mountain.

They will have the opportunity to see and enjoy some of the best ROMs in the world made with our rod, as well as try 8 different types of ROMs. After they leave the ROM museum, they can buy ROMs in the shop inside the factory.

They will have a tour inside the factory they will show you how they roll the cigar and all the different types of tobacco if they smoke they will have a free good quality cigar included for part of our tours and if they want to buy cigars they also sell it in the factory

I researched services and tours before we landed on our Carnival cruise in Amber Cove Puerto Plata DR. I came across Rigo on a Carnival Facebook page. He did not disappoint. We got iff the boat on a rainy morning. Made our way to the taxi area where Rigo met us. Off we went. He is super knowledgeable about his city and country. Super friendly and knew how to take pictures on my phone 100% better than me. Pink street. Umbrella street rum and chocolate factory. Shopping. We were tuckered out but his enthusiasm and energy continued. We will for sure look him up if we are that way again. I had mentioned in my email that my very first vacation was Puerta Plata. He remembered that. It was a great tour and he made you feel like family! .

It was great tour in the city full of culture and nice places! The guide was very polite and he knows the history of Puerto Plata. We are very happy and thankful for this tour!

We were very disappointed in this tour. It started a half hour late because Rigo was “helping” others. The stops were all places to buy—rum factory, chocolate shop, jewelry shop, etc., none of which held any charm or interest. At the rum stop we were directed into a long hall and he said he would meet us there. We stood around for almost 10 minutes in the dark with no place to even sit down, no Rigo, nothing. So we all walked through, no tour, samples, information. We thought he spent so much time organizing others that he basically forgot about us.

We love Rigo! He gave us such an awesome tour of Puerto Plata, and he stopped at a place for a wonderful lunch near the beautiful beach. He took us to the rum factory, cigar factory and let us shop in a great shopping area. He is so friendly and kind and we just love being with him. He and his drivers are the best!
We will always chose his company whenever we are in Dominican Republic!

We did the city tour with Rigo in Feb 2020, it's just taken me a while to write the review, but I promised I would! He's very knowledgeable and we had a lovely time on the tour.

We were contacted with specific instructions on where and when to meet our driver. We were meant by a very pleasant and kind young man named Augustin. As I have a mobility issue, he took careful precaution helping me at each stop. Augustin is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and extremely likeable. He showed my husband and I a wonderful time and we highly recommend Augustin! This is a very good way to learn about and enjoy your time in port and to meet the people of Amber Cove! Thank you again, Augustin!!!
