Watching everyone drive up to Rainbow Mountain in their comfy vans was fun from the back of an ATV. The drive in the morning is long, but we had a small group and we got to chat and get to know each other at breakfast before heading up to the mountain. The ride on the ATVs was great! We got to move at all different speeds and got to stop to take some pictures on the way. Rainbow Mountain, once you're up there (I recommend the motorbikes on the way up and walking the way down), it's absolutely extraordinary. Some warn that you'll be disappointed because the pictures online have all been enhanced, but I thought it was beautiful and didn't feel the least bit slighted by what I had seen online! This is a remarkable experience! 10/10 recommend!

If you’re coming to Cusco you know to be prepared for the high altitude. But Rainbow Mountain is another beast in itself. The altitude is no joke! We chose the ATVs over hiking for a quicker, less physically stressful way to get to the top. It definitely helped, but you still feel it when you get to the top. Once you park, you have a little extended hike further up before you’re met with the motorbikes to take you to the top. Be advised, it’s advertised as 25 soles for admission but we had to pay 30 soles. The motorbike was advertised as 80 soles but they said 50 soles. I guess there really isn’t a set price and just what they set at that time. Just have enough soles on you. The crew was extremely helpful in making sure everyone was ok (giving us cocoa leaves, etc…). Yes, the ride in the van to the mountain is bumpy!! But that’s no fault of the company, that’s just what it is. The van itself is a little uncomfortable with not much room but what do you expect driving up those narrow mountain sides. Breakfast and lunch is included, which was decent. Highly recommend gloves, hats, etc.. as it’s cold at the top. If you don’t bring it, you can purchase items when you stop for breakfast. I do not recommend this to someone with no previous ATV experience. And to be more specific, if you don’t have mountain/uphill experience, I don’t recommend it. You are literally on a mountain side, going up/down/around curves and there’s no guard rail to keep you from going over. They do not give you “lessons” or allow you to practice. You get on an atv and they give you a 1 min crash course on how to ride it. I can’t speak for other groups, but ours had issues with our ATVS stalling. Mine started first. I took away a star because the lead tried to imply it was me - but contrary to what he thought I’ve been riding ATVs for years. I didn’t appreciate his initial demeanor on it. Even with experience it’s nerve wracking to be up so high, so he didn’t help with that. It was to the point he had me ride with his partner and the ATV still stalled a few times - along with several other people. It wasn’t me after all but rather their equipment. Other reviews mentioned they leave people. I will say, it feels like they do. I know enough to know as a guide you should never leave people behind, to the point you’re so far ahead you can’t see your group. At one point I stopped the ride back because there were people so far back and there was nobody to check on them and a few of their ATVs kept stalling. Yes someone will ride back eventually but it’s so not a good look - especially with where you are. Overall, the views are breathtaking!! Literally!! I wouldn’t say don’t do it, just be aware/ready. But it’s definitely an experience!

This was the best decision we could have made for Rainbow Mountain. The altitude is insane. We wanted to enjoy and this was perfect! I was really nervous about the buffet style food, but the food was fantastic! They do have vegan/plant-base options. I had really delicious food that fueled me throughout the day. I did message Beto like 100 times to remember me for the vegan food so maybe that had something to do with it. I'm not sure. The buffet had vegan options that reflected traditional languages local dishes so I was very happy. Our guide was AMAZING at taking pictures. He helped us get the best spots, be on time without feeling rushed, and keep us safe. He warned us that there was going to likely be rain despite our phones telling us no rain. He was looking at the clouds and told us it was going to rain, which it did. Thank goodness because the ride back would have been horrific without the rain ponchos we purchased for 5 soles each. If you have bandanas or something to cover your nose and mouth, bring it. We were so glad we purchased it at the buffet place. Our guide was absolutely wonderful. His English was lacking a bit, but he had a clear accent when he spoke. There were a couple of people on the tour that spoke Spanish so they helped translate at times. ATV's are super easy, so after learning the basics, it's a lot of hand signals, pictures, and fun. It's not a history tour, LOL. I recommend viajes speedy. They communicated with me all the time through Whatsapp, they were on time to pick us up, and provided all the necessary information before and during the tour. Info in case you need it: We had so many people saying all sorts of different things about what to expect. Here is what we experienced: You will ride ATVs for 1hr 10min each way. When you get to the base of rainbow mountain there are three options: 1. Hike at 17000+ feet for 45-60 min minimum. If you do this, be sure to hydrate. The elevation is no joke. 2. Ride horses. We didn't see the horses, but they cost 90 soles round trip or 80 soles one way. Don't know why they break it up. This take 45 min since the horses have to walk there. 3. Ride motorcycles. This was the option we chose. It cost 90 soles round trip or 80 soles one way. It takes 10 minutes each way. In my opinion, this was the best option because it gives you enough time to take as many pictures as your heart desires. We found that Rainbow Mountain is pretty small, but the surroundings are just absolutely spectacular and you'll want time to explore all of it. We had about an hour up there and it went by extremely quickly. Also, the restrooms before rainbow mountain were absolutely pristine. There were several stops along the way. I really appreciated our guide telling us when to expect restroom stops so I could consistently keep hydrating. The altitude at Rainbow mountain is crazy. We did the ATVs and the motorcycle. We only hiked the last little bit and we definitely were very tired. If you don't want to hike, this is certainly the best way. The views to get to rainbow mountain alone are worth doing this option. Also, you return to Cusco at 4ish pm, which is great!

We had a great time on the Rainbow mountain ATV tour. Hotel collection was prompt, we got to the mountain early and before the crowd, the guide made sure we were safe throughout the trip and we arrived home early. Would recommend and also saves money not having to get the motorcycle trip up the last part of the mountain.

What an adventure! It was a long bus ride but worth it for the experience. Rainbow Mountain was awesome to see. We did have someone in our group who experienced altitude sickness but our guide was so good and gave her oxygen and tea to help relieve the symptoms. Then he helped her to get down the mountain where she was able to recover quickly. Our guide was the best! Rogelio explained everything we were doing and made us feel comfortable on the ATVs. The food was good (very Peruvian).

Communication- it was good communication on WhatsApp to provide time and pickup from hotel in Cusco, driver and guide were on hotel door at exact time. Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and explaining everything about tour throughout tour duration. Driver provided a smooth drive to allow us to sleep early in morning in their SUV. I had no Soles for entrance to Rainbow mountain, riding on back of motorcycle but tour guide was able to exchange US dollars to Soles for our need. And lastly he dropped us at hotel from where we were picked in the morning.

Not a reliable company. Cancelled the night before indicating not enough riders but that messes with plans of people that have certain days scheduled to do certain tours.

Great experience and the tour guides are awesome. They helped us through out the trip. My daughter needed oxygen, they immediately got it from somewhere and helped her every step to climb up the mountain. Really had a great experience
