Choose from one of the multiple daily departures and then make your own way to Reykjavik Old Harbour to meet your guide & captain. After a quick safety briefing, pull on your provided overalls and safety gear and hop aboard your RIB speedboat.
Hold on tight as your captain zips you out of the harbor, and look out for some of the wildlife for which Faxaflói is famous. Loop around the wind-beaten islands of the bay to see puffins in their natural habitat during their breeding season from May to the end of August, and then head out on the open water to scout out the majestic whales and dolphins.
On the return to the harbor, cruise along Reykjavik’s shoreline and spot the sights from the sea. Colorful fishing huts and bustling restaurants make up the cityscape in this part of town, alongside some thought-provoking attractions, too. Enjoy looking at the Sun Voyager sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason, and the Harpa Concert Hall — a glittering glass building that is said to be inspired by the country’s volcanic geology.
After roughly two hours on the water, travel back to the start point where your tour ends.

Fantastic trip,
Saw minke whale, loads of dolphins, and puffins. Boat ride was an experience in itself.
If we go back to Iceland, would definitely do this trip again.

Great, knowledgeable guide. Fun ride. Saw whales, dolphins, and puffins. The view of the city and the mountains from the boat was spectacular.

My son and I ended our 6 day Icelandic expedition with the Whale Watching. I was worried that we were not going to see whales. We saw at least 4 whales. It was the greatest experience watching the whales jump and slap their fins on the surface. Greatest experience of our trip and we had many. Note that the company does not use sonar as it disturbs the whales. I love that the company cares about their country’s wildlife. Dress warm.

The organization and crew are fantastic. Thank you! The weather is changeable but we were lucky, it snowed all over Reykjavik, it was nice and cloudy by the sea, no wind - very rare in Iceland. We saw about 50 dolphins, incredible! Puffins and 1 humpback whale. A year ago there were 5 humpback whales, including young ones. They come to the area for "dinner" so it's always a chance to see them.

Fit this in as a last minute morning excursion before going home. What a perfect ending to a perfect vacation. Take all the advice they give, and you’ll stay warm and have a blast.
We saw dolphins and a humpback whale played with us the whole time.
The boat is a ton of fun, like an amusement park ride.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the captain knew right where the whale was, even though 4 other boats were hovering in a different location.
Highly recommend this company, above all others.

This was a wonderful tour - Rodrigo was very knowledgeable and I was glad to have the extra gear to keep us warm and dry. The smaller group is better because the zodiac can get across the water faster than larger boats allowing us to really follow the wildlife. Loved Rodrigo's respect for the wildlife, too, in not getting so close as to threaten the whales and dolphins. Loved getting photos afterwards, too!

We went on the 10am rib tour with Whale safari and it was hands down the best experience we had in Reykjavik (we also did golden circle, blue lagoon and snowmobiles for comparison). From start to finish the trip was well organised and professional. All equipment was provided to keep you warm, dry and safe. The captain and guide (Miquel) were knowledgeable and friendly and made the tour interesting but still fun. We saw, porpoises, dolphins, a Minke whale and finished off the tour with a sighting of a humpback whale. A memorable and exciting experience, couldn’t recommend it enough 😀

This was definitely the way to go on a whale watching tour. Pedro was very informative and we really enjoyed seeing the Minke whales and dolphins. The weather was chilly and it was a bit rough, but it made it for an exciting trip! The coveralls they provided kept us fairly warm and dry. Thank you!
