You will be picked up in Madrid at 9:15am and depart towards Ribera del Duero. The Duero river, also known as the river of wine, is about 2 hours from Madrid and it is the home of tempranillo, the most famous Spanish grape variety (red wines with full body and lots of fruit).

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Ribera del Duero, Spain

This tour will bring you an exceptional experience, blending new and old wine making techniques, vineyards growing in extreme weather conditions, and the work of families who have converted this great region into one of the most popular red wine regions in the world. Let us accompany you among landscapes of contrasting colors, wines full of taste and aromas, traditional cuisine, and the exceptional heritage that is still preserved in the wine region of Ribera del Duero.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Aranda de Duero, Aranda de Duero, Province of Burgos, Castile and Leon

You will do a full visit in the first winery, learning about winemaking in Ribera (riverside in Spanish), and understanding tempranillo wine from the grape to the bottle.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Second Winery:

The second winery we visit is in harmonious modernity with the environment; it is open to the vineyards. This link between the interior and the exterior is a statement of the necessary functionality of spaces, nature and history. Everything stands up as a new concept of wine. We always select wineries that are different, mixing tradition and modernity, to get a broad understanding of one of the most famous wine regions in the world. Every stop will bring a surprise and you will learn about traditional wine making, modern architecture and limited productions that make special wines.

Please note that this itinerary is an example only and may be subject to change.

Third winery: a medieval underground cellar, with a total length of about 4 mi and excavated about 40 ft deep (networks of incredible tunnels that run through the subsoil of the city and are intended for the preservation of wines that have been made since the Middle Age). Here, we will learn part of the history of the Ribera del Duero.

The vineyards visited were great , the choices were excellent because we were able to visit a modern one , a creative one and a traditional vineyard. The Tastings were interesting and with Tapas to complete the experience. The Guide was very knowledgeable about the area and wines in general. His recommendation of a Restaurant for lunch was perfect in a historic town . We really enjoyed and recommend the Ribera del Duero tour.

I had an amazing wine tasting experience in Spain with a great tour guide Ismael. Ismael was so knowledgeable and friendly which made the experience comfortable since I was a solo woman traveler. Each of the three vineyards were beautiful and the tastings were amazing. So much so that I purchased and shipped 3 cases of wine back to the US. This was my very first wine tasting / vineyard experience in Spain and I look forward to many more in the future. If you enjoy wine and have an interest in learning and experience delicious wine from Spain then this is the tour for you. It’s one you should definitely take and if you’re lucky as I was Ismael will be your guide. Thanks so much Ismael for an informative and unforgettable experience.
