Our two hour Ridge Ride Is Our Most Popular Adventure!
You will traverse a mountain ridge high above the landscape below to capture a breathtaking view of the entire Kananaskis Valley.
Watch carefully as you descend through the montane forest and wetland.
You might catch a glimpse of the wildlife that resides in this unique ecosystem.
Appropriate for novice to experienced riders. Remember to bring your camera to capture the incredible scenery. You will also pass by our Teepee Village with one of the Teepees that was in the Movie The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio

For safety reasons, guests are expected to follow the guide's instructions at all times
Most travelers can participate

What a wonderful riding experience! Although we own horses, I haven’t ridden in several years due to my husband’s medical conditions. Boundary Ranch was the most beautifully maintained horse concession we have ever seen. My horse, Ranger, and the other horses were so healthy and well cared for. Our trail guide was personable, informative, and helpful to the less experienced writers. the trail itself wound through gorgeous forests and took us to a ridge with a wonderful view of the mountains. It was magical! Thank you, Boundary Ranch, for such a special experience to someone who loves horses and nature. I absolutely recommend this operation to any and all riders. Happy Trails, for sure!

I loved that there were a few rough terrain spots of the trail ride and that the horses did not feel so rote that you feel like you’re riding a machine. There was some guidance and direction needed for the hoses that made me feel engaged and like I was having a real experience without being in over my head. The photo opportunity was very appreciated since I was travelling on my own. I loved the knowledge our guide shared about the area, ranch life, horses and more. The ranch is stunning and overall it was a beautiful experience!

The most wonderful experience. A little stressed for for first few minutes when the horse was climbing side of mountain, but after 10 minutes, was so great!!
I rode a little bit of a spicy horse (he wanted to try and pass the horse in front of him), but I loved him (Toraz).
I would do this again in a heartbeat.

The only reason I'm not giving 5/5 is that I felt mislead by "Ridge Ride" - 99% of the ride was in the forest, with no view of the mountains at all, which is what I was most looking forward to and felt was worth the $$. But alas we merely peaked out to see that incredible view you see on the website briefly in order to snap our own pics. Tour guide also chatted the whole time (talking about herself, might I add) which detracted from being able to peacefully enjoy the ride and nature. Would've rather heard about stories about Kananaskis, the ranch, the horses, etc at the very least. But I will say the horses were well behaved and the ranch is lovely.

Took a two hour ride with my mother. Great horses. Really lovely guide. Felt safe and had a wonderful time. Would love to go back for more.

Absolutely stunning vistas and variety of terrain. Our guide, Greg, was authentic western and very entertaining. Didn't want it to be over. The riding time was actually short of 2 hours despite arriving 30 minutes in advance of scheduled ride. The ride is best suited for the beginner rider with some experience.

Super horses, well looked after, friendly staff. Our guide; randy, was great.
My only niggle is that we could only walk but I understand why as out with a range of experience variations.

Amazing Ranch, beautiful horses and fabulous staff. The ride was spectacular and such amazing views. There is plenty of evidence of bears, paw prints and scratch marks on the trees, but never actually saw one. The mountains provide the perfect backdrop for a not to be missed adventure.

It was a fantastic experience, the trail was fantastic, well maintained and the views were absolutely stunning! Being a local I just regret I haven’t joined the program several times before.
It was an idea I had just out of the blue and I am so happy I did. I was concerned that being alone I would feel out of place but au contraire, the other riders also were solo riders and we had a blast.
It taught me a lesson, if you feel like doing something, go for it; if you have someone to join you, great! If not, don’t let that stop you from having fun.
By the way, the facility is great, well maintained, clean, the horses were super friendly and extremely mellow. Ideal program for anyone! I will definitely be back for another ride.

This is a go-to for when we have guests in town. The Ridge Ride takes you to a good vista (where the guide always takes a photo of your group). You get to go up and down a few steeper spots, which makes this a more interesting ride than a flat loop, but still always feels very safe thanks to the chilled trail horses, and good guides.
