Booked our tour through Nexus Tours/ Sunwing representative at the resort we stayed at. It came to 4486.61 MXN / (250.20 USD) for 2 people, including all the transportation, nice lunch buffet, wetsuit, water-shoes, life-jacket, helmet with light, lockers, and a reasonably sized group of 8 -10 people. The driver provided sunbrella and water bottles for Tulum. All the drivers/ staff/ employees/ tour-guide were GREAT. Rio Secreto was amazing and 110% worthwhile. (It was also nice to get away from the heat and the wind, and the water was not too cold with a wet suit). Beautiful nature and very fun exploration! -(if you're into that sort of thing). There are NO electronic devices of any sort or camera allowed... which on one hand, I would have loved to take some photos there, but on the other hand it is also a nice experience when you and everyone around you isn't distracted with photo taking and is just enjoying the experience. An assigned Rio Secreto photographer accompanies your group into Rio Secreto, and there is an option to buy photos at the end, but the prices are RIDICULOUS, especially since it's just normal digital photography and everyone is a digital photographer in this day in age. I don't understand why they don't just reasonably price (absolutely no more than $14 USD total) for a digital copy of the photographs, so that most people would actually buy them, (considering the photographer already took them anyway). I imagine they would actually make more money that way in the end. Instead they charge about $100 USD for about 12 alright (no artistic masterpiece) photos. Tulum was a neat site, (& lots of iguanas) but when we went it was extremely windy and super hot (midday), and being a sensitive wuss when it comes to unfavourable weather conditions I would, in retrospect have skipped out on this tour, unless I was there during milder weather.

This was such a great trip! They are organized, knowledgeable and provide so much. From umbrellas, to the wetsuits and life vest. It was absolutely perfect, enjoyable and most of all memorable. Our tour guide was Diego and I could not be more grateful for his kindness and care. I can not wait to bring my kids on this trip and experience a second time for myself. Highly recommend!

Diana was the best guide we could have asked for. This was an amazing experience from start to finish. The service was excellent and the people were even better. Diana made the experience super interactive and her ability to go back and forth from English to Spanish allowed for a seamless process for a bilingual family or group. I would recommend to anyone that wants to add a little excitement to their trip to Cancun. Diana and her crew made this a day to remember.

The Rio Secreto experience was amazing! Highly recommend to adults and children alike. Karina, our guide, was exceptional. The rest of the tour was disappointing. We expected to visit Tulum at the start of the day and end the tour with the refreshing cave tour, but did just the opposite. We arrived in Tulum in the heat of the afternoon and heavy crowds, after a very mediocre ‘traditional’ cafeteria style lunch. Could not enjoy Tulum in the oppressive heat.

Had an absolutely wonderful time. Our guide, Tainara, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, especially with our children. She answered all their questions and let them have a great time exploring. My 8 year old came out saying he felt like Link from Zelda and my 16 year old was just really interested and curious.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves the whole day. The Mayan ruins right on the shoreline were quite special. We booked the ruins & river combination. This represented quite a bit of driving. They were kind enough to pick us up from our hotel & tend to all of the logistics, it was a very long day as our driver collected us at 7:20am & we returned at 4pm. But it was all worth it. Our driver Lucio & our guide Omar were great. I appreciate all of their attentiveness. Two very different experiences in one. The lunch was nothing special, but we didn’t come for the food. A lovely day. Thank you Rio Secreto!

Wow!!! We can not say enough about this tour. Our guide, Aaron, looked and sounded like Jonathan Roumie, from The Chosen. Anyway, Aaron was fantastic and super funny. His English was perfect. His knowledge of the ruins and the cave system we explored later was very educational. Aaron was professional, polite, safety conscious, and very protective of the eco system, as well as his customers. The Mayan pyramids is a once in a lifetime thing to see. I'm so glad we saw it. Great ocean views. A lot of iguanas. A large gift shop and some food areas. The cenote and cave system was the second part of the day with our same group and Aaron. We wore body suits, miner helmets with lights, and water shoes. You start out gradually into the cave system with ankle high water that slowly gets deeper, which allows your body to acclimate to the cold water. "Es frio, si?" My nickname soon became "Frio" by Aaron and the group, lol. The caverns are a large and dark and winding system of caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites. We saw small catfish, shrimp, and bats. With the lights off you could not see your hand in front of your face. My only advice on this adventure is make sure you help the person in front of you and behind you and hopefully they will do the same for you - some of the watery steps can be a tad steep. Be a team player! This double excursion day was very affordable. If you give it a try ask for Aaron to be your guide. You won't be disappointed.

Tour guide (Diana) is great and caves are a worthwhile visit. If it weren't for what happened next, I would give this four or five stars. At the end they will offer to sell digital photos for $120. BEWARE! Do not allow them to charge your credit card until AFTER you download. Otherwise, all you receive for your money is a download code which attempts to scam you further but never actually delivers the photos.

This operator is fantastic! My husband left his phone on the tour bus and they delivered it to our resort the next morning! Lifesavers. Our tour guide Mely was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. She gave the tour in both English and Spanish. Tulum is amazing. Beautiful to photograph when you get a break from in the crowds. And the view of the coast is spectacular. Some things to know about Tulum: the site does not allow disposable water bottles, so bring a reusable insulated container. It's very HOT, crowded, and windy. The umbrellas provided are nice but the wind takes them and with so many people it is difficult to use them. Where a light coverup and hat instead. Rio Secreto provides lunch, which is served at 4pm! Make sure to eat at Tulum - either pack something from your resort or buy tacos at a cantina outside the Tulum gate. The Rio Secreto tour is the best part. As amateur spelunkers, we have toured caves in many places. This tour was one of the best. No artificial lights other than your headlamps and the guide's flashlight. Natural cave tours are the best! Things to know about Rio Secreto: You can't take a camera in with you, which as a geologist and caver, I was disappointed by. A professional photography follows and take many pics of you - which you have to buy. I wanted pictures of the formations! The water is cool and refreshing. I wish I had not used the wetsuits they provide. Lunch was OK. If I had not eaten fish tacos at Tulum, I might have expired in the cave! Overall - an amazing tour package!

getting to experience this natural miracle in a sustainable way was awesome. To be honest, I did not think I would have enjoyed it nearly as much as I did. Our guide was very knowledgeable, very kind, and she seemed to really enjoy her job. The view from Tulum was so incredible, but Rio Secreto was really special.
