Passing through City Market, we will see Club One, the home performance venue of Lady Chablis, a Savannah LGBTQ icon. We will also see the building that was home to one of the most active markets for the selling of humans as property, which was immediately converted into a freedman's school after emancipation by some of the very people who were sold as property inside.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Wright Square, Bull Street Between West State and West York Streets, Savannah, GA

Here we will discuss the impacts of two key native figures in Savannah history: Tomochichi, chief and founder of the native Yamacraw tribe, and Coosaponakeesa (AKA Mary Musgrove) a Creek woman. Both were as instrumental in the shaping of Savannah as Oglethorpe who is considered the founder.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Chippewa Square, intersection of Bull and McDonough Streets, Savannah, GA 31401

Here we will briefly discuss the original site of the Savannah Catholic Church, founded by the Haitian community discussed earlier. We we also discuss Susie King Taylor, a self-freed woman who served as a nurse and teacher during the Civil War, published a memoir, and opened a school for black children just off of Chippewa Square.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Madison Square, Bull Street Between West Harris and West Charlton Streets, Savannah, GA

Here we will stop in front of the Green-Meldrim house and discuss Field Order 15, as issued by General Sherman but formed and negotiated by a group of 20 black pastors and community leaders led by Garrison Frazier, how it was the birth of practical reparation efforts, and why it implementation was prevented.

Absolutely incredible tour!!! Sargon is a wealth of knowledge about Savannahs history and was able to easily pivot depending on the question we had at the moment, which we had many. Sargon also delivers the information in a very fun and story like manner so it wasn't just dry and boring information, along with giving as much detail about historical events and places as you could want. Having read about and listened to some of the other tours/tour guides this is a must do tour if you want something interesting, entertaining, and different from the information that you could probably just read in the footnote of a history book! When we make it back to Savannah we'll definitely take this tour again!

Is there a way to leave more stars?! This was such an amazing tour that excided my expectations. It was so refreshing to hear the sides of history that get overlooked and minimize in the name of status quo. Sargon was so insightful and knowledgeable of not just the stories but the whole of each person's life and the grater historical context. There is no greater experience than being shown Savannah by someone who genuinely loves learning and sharing history!

This was an excellent tour. Sargon was a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who told us about a host of historical figures from Savannah history who did some remarkable things you wouldn't normally hear about. Their lives and stories were both important and colorful. This tour is as engaging and different as Savannah, itself. I'd recommend it to anybody. When planning your day and/or parking your car build in an extra 15 minutes because the tour ends about half a mile from where it starts.

Great tour! The tour guide clearly has a passion for history and loves to share the stories. We found ourselves listening to every word because of her enthusiasm and angle of the underrepresented party. We would gladly take another tour she offered!

Really had a great time on this tour. Sargon the tour guide, was excellent. She knew so much of the lesser known heroes of Savannah's history. You can tell she loves what she does and wants to tell others about it. The walking tour took us through beautiful areas of the city with very nice stops along the tour. Highly recommend if you want to know about Savannah.

This tour was incredible. As an aficionado of lesser-told history, Sargon's guided explanations were insightful and informative. They did an excellent job providing as much context to the stories, while also keeping the information entertaining and concise. There is so much I learned on this tour that I would love to share, but if you are considering this tour you are much better off having them tell you instead!
