To be honest we come upon this beautiful place more or less by chance during our trip from Spain. Once in Faro we quickly discovered the Ria Formosa, booked a boat trip and were once again very lucky to find a perfect guide in the person of Miguel from Islands4You! He explained the awesome nature there, we were able to see a sea eagle, flamingos, crabs and so many more birds! His love for this lagoon and its inhabitants and his profound knowledge made this trip a true gem during our holidays. Obrigado!

Excellent trip with Miguel he took time to explain about the Ria Formosa and to make sure we saw the birds. Gave us plenty time to take pictures of the sunset which was fabulous. Highly recommend thank you Miguel

Lots of birds to see, amazing unspoilt beach islands and a beautiful sunset. Perfect way to end the holiday.
Miguel was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Glad we went at 7pm, when it was much cooler than in the day.

Booked a day in advance at the stand in the harbour without any problems, agent spoke fluent English and was very friendly and informative when discussing which tour we should go for.
We chose the sunset tour to mark the last day of our week in the excellent city of Faro. We are so pleased that we did.
The boat arrived bang on time, our friendly boat captain welcomed us on board (just us and a Spanish couple), breaking the ice with some appropriate humour in fluent English and Spanish.
We had a lovely smooth trip along the calm estuary, past Lighthouse Island to Deserted Island where we had 15 minutes to disembark and dip our toes in the Atlantic Ocean.
The skipper had a keen eye and would point out interesting local wildlife en route.
We headed back towards the harbour, stopping short at an idyllic spot t watch the sun disappear, our last sunset of our trip and absolutely beautiful. A special moment for the two of us that we shall always remember.
As the sun disappeared beyond the horizon we re-entered the bustling harbour, all lit up with throngs of people enjoying themselves in the many bars and restaurants. I felt like Cristiano Ronaldo arriving in Monaco in my yacht! Brilliant.
A thoroughly recommended trip, great value for money, a lifelong memory made. Thank you.

Great experience, wonderful views, nice captain. Enjoyed champagne and strawberries under way. And that sunset, sitting in the Deserted Island…. unforgettable.
