Occasionally the Basilica may be closed due to last minute private events outside of the tour operators control and often without notice. In these uncommon circumstances the tour will operate as usual and the time spent inside the basilica will be made up elsewhere on the tour. No refunds will be granted in the event the Basilica is closed
Starting in 2024, the Vatican Museums will discontinue early access for ALL tour providers, instead opening to the public at 8AM. This tour will then be offered as a first entrance experience, which we recommend for a less crowded, more personalized, and fully guided experience.
Vatican management maintains the right to delay the opening of the Sistine Chapel for religious reasons, in this case the guide will modify the itinerary and extend your visit of the museums to ensure you make the most of your time before access to the Sistine Chapel is permitted.
Please note St Peter's Basilica is closed on most Wednesday's. If you book during a day in which the Basilica is closed, your tour of the Vatican Museums will be extended to compensate the closure

Alessandro was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had. He was so sweet and attentive to my mom who is in her 70s and who had never been to Vatican City. He really connected the history of religions and the current state of things. He was engaging and made everything relatable. You could tell he was very knowledgeable. It was an absolute pleasure to have him as our guide. And I sincerely appreciate and am grateful to how caring he was towards my mom. And he made sure to show us everything we wanted to see and have us tips for visiting other sites! Honestly he was the best!!! When we come back will ask for him by name!

I was disappointed in that we were expecting smaller crowds for the posted time of our tour (7:30 a.m.). There was a delay in starting tours that morning - certainly out of the control of our guide. One of our group had to leave the tour early due to the overwhelming crowds. I felt a little misled. The places and spaces we viewed were beautiful and worth seeing as long as your expectations are properly set.

Martina was an excellent guide for our tour of Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. We were fortunate that we were the only 2 on our tour. The pace was relaxed and the information was delivered well and sometimes with “flourish”. So it was entertaining as well. She made our visit memorable !

Our guide for this tour was terrible. I booked and paid extra for an early morning tour to beat some of the crowds in the museum. We did only have 6 people in the group, which was nice, but that is the only good thing about this tour. The tour starts at 7:30 where you wait in line outside. This time is spent explaining what you are about to see, some history of the Vatican, etc. Our guide talked so low that none of us could hear her even after she was asked to talk louder. Once we got inside, she got us headsets provided by the museum. Then we stood around in the lobby area looking at nothing while she explained more about her pictures. The headsets were terrible and I could only understand about 1 out of 5 words. We then went outside and looked at some stuff outside. Around 8:50 we finally made our way into a part a the museum. By this time, everything was so packed you couldn’t move inside. So much for getting up early to beat the crowd. We shuffled through the packed museum like a heard of cows. After we got through the museums, we headed over to St Peter’s Basilica. We had to go outside to do that and it was drizzling rain outside. Instead of taking our group up to the covered area to explain some stuff, she stopped us out in the rain and then before we could get to the covered area it began to just pour down rain on us. This was supposed to be a 3 hour tour but wound up being closer to 4. This tour was a complete waste of money. I couldn’t understand anything the guide was saying, she wasted our time while the museum filled up with people.

The tour was amazing and our guide Laura P. was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and kind! Even before we entered Laura gave us highlights so we could get the most out of our visit. Laura has a gift for leading these tours and she made our visit truly unforgettable! Also, arriving early and skipping the lines was definitely worth it-by the time we were leaving the lines were so long. Liv Tours made everything easy and so much fun!

This would be 0 stars if that was an option! A week before my reservation I received a message from the tour operator saying the time was changed to 3:15pm. I responded that was OK and I would still take the tour. Before the tour I sent the tour operator a message to verify we were still meeting at the same time but they didn't respond. We showed up on time and were told our tour was canceled. They claimed it was due to the colosseum and they notified Viator immediately. I wasted my last day in Rome waiting for this tour that I didn't get to go on!!
