Embark on a culinary adventure at a historic, family-run restaurant that has opened its kitchen just for your small group. Cook along with a professional chef as they show you how to make four signature dishes of Basque cuisine in a concise three-hour class. On the menu: Spanish potato omelet, cod in pil pil sauce, a delectable steak with red piquillo peppers, and the renowned burnt cheesecake. In expert English, Gorka provided us with a brief city history, then he and the chefs engaged us to co-cook a wonderful meal! Basque tortilla, cod, steak and fantastic cheesecake. Plus cider and wine. We 3 couples thoroughly enjoyed the early evening. Meal. Don’t miss this fun!

What a perfect way to truly learn about the Basque region and its food culture. Carlos was a fantastic guide with strong English. The foods we helped prepare were delicious and will be easy to replicate back home. Great value for the price too.

We had such fun. Gorka was our guide and he was very personable, communicative and engaging. The tour was perfect size - two couples, Gorka and the chef. The experience was just hands on enough, great food and wine. Highly recommended.

They were a no-show. My daughter and I were at the spot stated in the instructions 15 minutes beforehand and stayed 10 minutes after the event time. No emails or call. Big disappointment

My culinary journey with my boyfriend Toby in San Sebastian was spectacular, thanks to the Authentic Basque Cooking Class in the charming Old Town. Under the expert guidance of Chefs Carlos and Saul, our group was immersed in the vibrant world of Basque cuisine. The hands-on experience of making a traditional Basque tortilla, the delicate dance of preparing Bacalao Pil-Pil, the perfect Txuleta with Piquillo Peppers, and the sweet finale of crafting the iconic San Sebastian Cheesecake left us not only with full bellies but also with cherished memories. The chefs' passion for Basque culinary traditions shone through in their teaching, making every step an enjoyable and enriching experience. The ambiance of the Old Town added an extra layer of authenticity to our cooking adventure. While it would have been a lovely touch to keep our aprons as souvenirs, as I have experienced in other cooking classes worldwide, this small detail did not detract from the overall exceptional experience. This cooking class is a must-do for anyone visiting San Sebastian.

Carlos was fantastic, as was the other chef. We learned a lot, had a great time and the food was delicious! Highly recommend this experience and that Carlos be able to adjust as he sees fit. He knows what he’s doing!
