My partner and I were touring the country and traveled from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. The train carries mainly tourists and is often late. It’s pretty slow and our train arrived about 40 minutes lates. It’s a good slow journey through the hill country. Sit back and enjoy the scenery. A food seller comes around selling vegetable samosas. I bought some, I only wanted 2 or 3 and he tried to sell me about 8 for 300 rupees. I settled on 4 for 150 rupees. It wasn’t the cost, I didn’t want to waste any.
