Itinerary

Sauna and ice bathing is very popular in Oslo. You will have between 1 - 2 hours (depending on the time and day you book), to relax in the sauna and swim in the fjord. Make sure to bring lots of drinking water, and two towels - one to sit on and one to dry yourself. There is no shower or running water in the winter (November - May) but the water in Tjuvholmen is the cleanest in Oslo, making it a great shower substitute. There is also a supermarket (Joker Tjuvholmen) only 50m away if you need more water or snacks. Please remember to not put salt water on the sauna oven, be kind and considerate to other sauna users, be safe, and do not drink more than 3 standard drinks during you visit. Enjoy sauna life on Oslo fjord!

amazing experience, great value for money & easy to find. Not sure how you would fit 10 adults comfortably we had 6 in my pod & it was getting a little crowded so unsure how this would be on a sold out option.

It was a great, although I didn’t know it was right in the harbor so anyone could see you. I think there should be someone whom you could ask questions to about how the oven works or anything else.

Such a unique experience! The sauna heats up nicely and was able to soothe my cold bones. I was too chicken to jump into the water! I dipped a toe and it broke off into the ocean and floated away. Would do again if I didn't ever want to wear flip flops again.

I came super early in the morning and had the sauna to myself. It was very cosy inside of the sauna with a small rainstorm outside. The waves rocked the sauna slightly and it was very calming! I've never managed my own woodburning sauna before, so I didn't quite get it as hot as the Finns would have it, but from my point of view it was fine. :) The cold plunge in the fjord was great.

The sauna had lots of wood provided and was a nice experience for our 1st day in Oslo. Lots of shops, restaurants, Opera House and Library in the area. Our only concern was the lack of directions provided to the sauna. Our local hotel concierge even had difficulty as no address provided.

Ok. This is a must do in Norway. Of all the 10 trips we’ve had through Viator this trip, Mad Goat floating Sauna was the most memorable. The sauna facility itself was simple but clean, it’s just something about dipping in the Sea in ice, then into the sauna - with your friends/family - amazing memories. High recommend the sauna experience. Was relaxing and enjoyable. The changing area is quite small, so is a good idea to wear your swimwear under your clothes. I also wished that I had brought flip flops to wear when dipping into the water, as the floor outside the sauna was icy. The sauna itself was clean and the instructions which were sent beforehand were clear and easy to follow.
