The learning was tailored specifically to our level and the improvement we both experienced was remarkable! The assistance and dedication by the staff was amazing, from the airport pick up to the farewells. We expected that the experience would be simply the learning, but the staff quickly felt like family, as did the other students. The organising of optional after-school excursions allowed us to do so much more, very easily and economically. Getting to know the other students enabled us to receive and share travel advice and their encouragement was invaluable. We opted to stay in the homestay which felt immediately like home. It was very comfortable and within easy walking distance of the school. Having the opportunity to get to know our beautiful host along with the other homestay students was perfect. Even the neighbourhood shopkeepers felt like our community at home! Highly recommend - our first foray into immersive international language school did not disappoint in any way

This is the best place to learn Spanish in Quito. The teachers are amazing and everyone was so helpful at the school. From day 1 to 6 weeks later, I learnt so much! Highly recommend this school. I hope to come back here soon to meet these amazing people. Thank you for everything!!

I had a fantastic experience at Instituto Superior de Espanol. I had studied at a similar type of school/homestay in Guatemala and didn't learn half as much there as I did the first day here. My teacher, Sayra, was not only friendly and made the lessons fun, but she was able to identify exactly what my needs were (I am at the intermediate level) and teach me what I needed to know in a completely understandable manner. She filled in holes in my understanding of Spanish that no other teacher has been able to do so far. My confidence in speaking has risen, my grammar and vocabulary improved greatly, and I didn't even mind doing the homework she assigned nightly! I could not be more pleased. Eugenio, the director, was timely and thorough in his correspondence with me while I was making plans to study there, and picks up students at the airport himself, even at 12:30 at night! He does so to engage the student in conversation so as to be able to properly place them in their classes at the school. His assessment of me was spot on, not only for what level I needed at school, but also for the homestay he placed me in. I am an older student (over age 65) and he placed me with an older couple with whom I got along fabulously! They could not have been more kind and helpful, and we had wonderful discussions in Spanish about politics, sociology, culture, economy. They suffered through my bad Spanish and really helped me improve. More, though, by the end of the week I felt I had two new friends.
