This excursion was truly amazing, and I can’t recommend it enough! Our tour guide, Rebecca, was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day. We made many stops, and they were all beautiful (carcross desert, emerald lake, dog mushing camp, etc). We saw a lot in the 6 hours of the tour. The weather was quite bad at first, but Rebecca made sure we still had a great time! She was extremely knowledgeable and went out of her way to take us to all the stops we wanted to see. The tour left on time, and there were vegetarian options for lunch. I think we saw much more than we would have on the train. I booked this tour instead of one through my cruise ship, and there was more than enough time to explore skagway after and make it back to the boat.

We loved this tour as we did it at the end of September and the autumn colours were beautiful. Sam our tour guide was amazing giving us continuous commentary the whole way and stopping often so we could take photos.

Phenomenal tour. We had originally booked to take the White Pass Railway from Skagway and a visit to a mushers camp through our cruise company, but when I searched Viator on a lark, I found this tour. I am SO grateful that I did. This tour was less expensive by half and included both activities. Also, this tour gave us the opportunity to stop and take lots of photos and actually take in the scenery instead of watching it whizz past us on the train. Our tour guide, Eric, was an absolute treasure. He was amiable, knowledgeable and was very in-tune with the types of photo ops the group would enjoy. The trip to the Yukon was exactly what I'd hoped for, between getting to stop at the Welcome to the Yukon sign, to seeing all of the gorgeous waterfalls and lakes - it was incredible. We enjoyed our stop at Carcross. You might consider it the typical "tourist trap" sort of place, but it was actually really quaint and cute. The prices in the souvenir shop were some of the best we'd seen through our tour of Alaska. Not to mention they actually had items made locally, rather than mostly Made in China. Lunch was good - nothing fancy - but still hit the spot. We appreciated the unlimited free coffee, tea, and donuts as well. Visiting the dogs, many of whom are up for adoption through the Humane Society of Whitehorse, was a real treat. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Skagway, and if you're lucky enough to have Eric as your guide, it will be an incredible experience.

We were told to arrive 30 minutes before but ended up hanging about for an hour because they didn’t have a driver. Now they must have known this prior to trip because she explained seasonal staff had gone back home. So we hung about waiting for the driver to arrive.
The trip itself was okay. Basically lots of scenic stops and a visit to the mushers station which was good.

I really appreciated the opportunities to stop along the way. Stopping at Tutshi Lake and Emerald Lake was fantastic! We had heard so much about the train, but so glad we decided on this excursion. The Caribou Crossing stop was really nice-perfect to stretch legs and learn a little more about the Yukon history, yummy lunch and fun animals.
