Rescate Wildlife is one of the largest rescue centers in Central America. Our main objective is to attend, rehabilitate, and reintegrate rescued animals back into their natural environment. Many animals have been orphaned animals, wounded or abused. In our sanctuary, you will see a large number of animal species that have been rescued and for diverse reasons cannot be released for reintegration into their habitat. Rescate Wildlife rescue center is a wonderful place where the animals have a space and ideal conditions to survive. You will be amazed by the beautiful tropical landscape, large variety of animals and our beautiful facilities.

I went with four other friends yesterday, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found Eduardo, our guide to be full of interesting and informative details about the refuge's mission and how they care for the animals and release the animals that they can. I loved seeing the variety of birds, cats, monkeys and reptiles, including those not native to Costa Rica. The enclosures look very good and we were told that some were in the process of being enlarged. It is admirable that this refuge is also educating people about how to keep the animals from being imprinted on humans and heartwarming to see how these animals who were injured, in many cases by humans, are being helped and put into environments where they can thrive, stimulated and healed. Thank you Eduardo and Rescate Wildlife Rescue Centre for your work.

Being able to experience so many awesome animals that close is an incredible experience. The staff was wonderful during my trip as well. But I think more important is the mission of Rescate. Thank you for doing all you can for the wildlife of Costa Rica.

Rescate is beautiful property. The animals feel well-cared for and are absolutely beautiful. This is a great half-day animal adventure for all ages, including families with little ones.

It’s a very interesting place! Our kids loved it. We saw a lot of birds, monkeys, iguanas, tapir, rabbits, peacocks…Thanks to all workers of this amazing place!

Very clean, lush landscape, so many cool birds and animals. I like how some animals are free to wander. We really enjoyed it!

A wonderful way to spend a few hours! We chose a guided tour, which was very detailed and reasonably priced. Our guide Suzanne was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly as she toured our small group of 5 around all the sections of Rescate. We saw many birds, iguanas, turtles, caimans; monkeys, sloths, tapirs, a crocodile and big cats (panther, leopard, ocelots, margays and jaquar). And Suzanne filled us in on their rescue stories. We would have missed seeing many of the animals if we had toured without a guide.
We also went inside a stand of giant bamboo.
Following our 3-hour tour, we enjoyed an excellent lunch on the deck of their restaurant.
Highly recommend for anyone interested in animals and their protection!

My friend and I loved visiting the animal rescue! We took our time and spent about 4 hours there. It truly was an experience to see some of the animals walking around free... lots of iguanas, peacocks, and other birds we referred to as the "security guards" lol. We could tell the animals were well taken care of and were able to see all of them except for the sloths which are generally hard to spot. We also stopped for lunch at the restaurant on the premises and it shocked us that the food we had there was the best out of our entire week in costa rica! 10/10 worth the visit.

The whole place is wonderful and we did get to see most of the animals. Great spot would recommend anyone to check it out if in the area.

Much bigger than we expected. Lots of animals to see. Well planned out. The animal enclosures are large and have lots of places for the animals to get away from people, exercise, and still be seen by the guests. For most of the animals that is. Well worth the price of admission.
