Stop At: Sistine Chapel, Viale Vaticano, 00165 Vatican City Italy
Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel
One of the most iconic experiences in Vatican City is visiting the Sistine Chapel, and once you step inside, you'll understand why. It's no wonder that this masterpiece is revered as one of the greatest works of art in Western civilization. Since the chapel is a sacred place of worship, speaking is not allowed inside, and your guide won't be able to provide commentary while you're there. But fear not, they'll provide commentary before entering ensuring that you're fully prepared to take in all the wonders of the Sistine Chapel.
To gain entry into the Sistine Chapel, both men and women must ensure that their knees and shoulders are covered. Failure to comply might result in the Vatican denying entry to religious sites. We understand that the Roman summers can be scorching, so a great alternative is to bring a shawl, scarf, or sweater with you. Get ready to be spellbound by the sheer grandeur of the Sistine Chapel!
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: St. Peter's Basilica, Piazza San Pietro, 00120 Vatican City Italy
St. Peter's Basilica - (Except on Wednesdays!)
The last stop of your tour brings you to St. Peter's Basilica. Accompanied by your guide, you'll enter through a dedicated corridor for groups, granting swift access to the basilica skipping the long queues that often appear on the square. Inside, you'll have the opportunity to witness the Vatican's most esteemed church, believed to house the remains of St. Peter himself. Your guide will introduce you to the cathedral before you enter to explore on your own, allowing you all the time you need to take in the beauty of this religious site.
Admire the architecture and art, including Michelangelo's La Pietà and Bernini's Baldacchino, and bask in the peaceful atmosphere of this spiritual sanctuary.
Please note that St. Peter's Basilica is closed on Wednesdays for the Papal Audience and can occasionally experience other unexpected closures. If this happens, your guide will make up the time at other areas within the Vatican.

This was a great tour of the Vatican museums & Sistene Chapel. At the end we were allotted 25 minutes in the Sistene Chapel which was too long. 10 minutes would have sufficed.

Seeing inside the Vatican etc was beautiful so much history. We could not understand most of the tour guides information. Audio was very poor. I saw many on the tour just remove the ear phones as it was impossible to understand.
Also I think the crowds are ridiculous. I get that you want to pump through as many as possible but it was so jammed that at most times you could barely move. The Sistine chapel there are so many people crammed into the centre. They should develop a better system that you see it and leave instead of trying to meet in the chapel. It made no sense.

We could have seen and learned about everything on our own. The tour guide was not very knowledgeable. Another guide would have provided more information.

This was a wonderful tour of the Vatican. We were given great information. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The Sistine Chapel is something you must see when visiting Rome. It was a bit frustrating how busy the Chapel was when we entered. This is no fault of the tour company - it is just a reality of visiting the chapel. I was surprised. I would still recommend this tour to people We didn't have much of a wait time for getting into the chapel. This was worth the time/money.

The meet - up place was exactly as stated! Our guide Fernando was amazing! What a treat to have an art historian as our guide! The only down side was that it was so crowded. Not The Tour Guy's fault!!!

Our tour guide Yammouna was excellent. I'm an art history buff so we were able to chat throughout the tour. Definitely recommend this and skipping the line because they line up for 3 hours to get inside.

It was an excellent tour and our tour guide Bob was excellent. Unfortunately, for us there were too many stairs for my husband with limited mobility.

I can't fault the tour for the crowds or the heat. Our guide was very knowledgeable about everything we saw. However, the Sistine Chapel, which I waited two hours to see was so crowded that they (security) just kept telling you to walk through the room. (If you wanted to see the ceiling, step inside the square and look up from where you were - so crowded you could really only get a good look at what was above you.) If pictures were allowed there it wouldn't have been as big a problem as I would have snapped pics and zoomed in later.
The great part of this tour was the skip-the-line aspect as they cut out a lot of time.
Again, can't fault the tour but the circumstances around it. it was our next-to-last day and that was the worst (crowd-wise) that we can across in our two weeks there.
