Pass By: New Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana

Your experience starts with hotel pick-up in New Orleans.
Travel along the river to reach your destination in the swamps.

Stop At: Barataria Preserve, Marrero, LA

On this tour you will experience the best of both: a swamp tour and an airboat ride. You will travel at high speeds in the airboat then slow down and stop for pictures. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. These airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. Every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife. Yes, gators will get close, real close. So close that you will be able to look into those reptilian eyes.

Alligators do hibernate in the colder months, but the experienced captains know where to look for them. On average, during the winter, you have better than a 50/50 chance of seeing a gator. In the warmer months, you will always see a gator. Every New Orleans Airboat Tour is unique and you never know what will be around the next corner. The area toured is a combination of Swamp, Marsh and Lake. So you may see anything from a Bald Eagle to a Pelican to Osprey our even an Owl, its that diverse. The airboats are driven by a 454 Chevy Engine that will produce speeds of up to 35 miles an hour. They are propelled by a huge fan that will blow air from the back of the boat in excess of 200 miles an hour. These tours are truly a blast! They ride in inches of water and go places where traditional boats cannot go. The boats were designed to take you to inaccessible areas of the swamp, places that you cannot reach by foot or car. It is a unique experience.

Had an absolutely fantastic time on the swap airboat tour. Everything was smooth from start to finish. We got picked up from our hotel and the bus driver was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and fun, basically gave us a tour en-route to the swamp. Upon arrival, check-in was simple and quick and we were on our way within 30 minutes. The airboat swap tour was great. We saw all sorts of wild life including tons of alligators and turtles. The captain was great fun and very knowledgeable. I’d highly recommend this trip to annoying visiting New Orleans!

We had a great time on our swamp tour. Pickup at our hotel was flawless. The boat was a perfect size for zipping around and into small inlets (not possible for the bigger boats). Danny was a great guide, friendly and knowledgeable and good sense of humor. We saw tons of alligators, including very close up. We even got to hold a baby. The boat was clean and comfortable and we did not get wet, even at high speed. The boat ride itself was around 90 minutes. Definitely recommend.

What a blast! We had such a good time. The guides were great and we did see a few alligators - not many but a few. They had one, named "Peepshow" who came to the boat to be fed marshmellows - - - yes, marshmellows. He fed the gator and had really interesting information to share about the alligators. We also got to hold a baby alligator. We didn't get wet and sat in the front; just a little spray now and then when the airboat went fast. Overall, I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone.

The whole thing took about 4.5 hours. 2 hours trip description could very misleading, it almost made us late for our flight.
